Dustin Pari Appears As Ghost Hunters Live On SciFi
For its first live Halloween special in 2006, Sci Fi Channel's "Ghost Hunters" -- led by Rhode Island Roto-Rooter plumbers Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, who moonlight as paranormal investigators -- chose the 138- guest-room Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colo., an hour from Denver, which was the inspiration for the Stephen King novel "The Shining." Among those confirmed to be joining Hawes and Wilson are their regular investigators -- Steve Gonsalves, Dave Tango and Kris Williams -- along with familiar face Donna LaCroix and Robb Demarest and Dustin Pari from the spinoff series "Ghost Hunters International." Also on hand is Amanda Tapping, star of the new Sci Fi Channel series "Sanctuary."
Last year, Hawes and Wilson and their organization, The Atlantic Paranormal Society, chose to revisit the rambling Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, Ky. Built in the 1920s, the huge Gothic structure could accommodate more than 400 patients.
This Friday, Oct. 31, Hawes and Wilson take T. A. P. S. on a ferry ride to Pea Patch Island in the Delaware River to do a second, now live investigation of Fort Delaware, an early 19th-century battlement that became a POW camp during the Civil War.T. A. P. S. doesn't just show up at a location with a few psychics, a couple of dowsing rods and a crystal ball.
Its investigative technique is based more in hard evidence, so there are cameras (regular, night vision and thermal imaging -- in addition to those that record the show for broadcast), digital recorders and a variety of devices to measure electromagnetic fields, temperature and so on.
FSU Gang Members Found Guilty In Restaurant Murder
Three Corona-area gang members were convicted Monday of beating a 19-year-old man to death outside a fast-food restaurant in an ttack triggered by the victim's perceived loyalty to a rival group.After deliberating all of Friday and most of this morning, a six-man, six-woman jury found Travis Daniel Westly, 26, Richard James Dugan, 27, and Jonathan Richard Morgan, 24, guilty of second-degree murder and entence-enhancing gang allegations for the June 23, 2006, fatal assault of Sean Thomas Gardhouse.
The defendants, scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 12, face 25 years to life in prison. On the night of the attack, the defendants were allegedly angry over an earlier confrontation between Morgan and members of a Corona-area group called SoCal Riders, or SCR, comprised mainly of high school students. Aki said Gardhouse was somehow perceived as an SCR sympathizer.

Senator Dianne Wilkerson Arrested By FBI
State Sen. Dianne Wilkerson was set free this afternoon on a $50,000 bond after appearing in federal court on attempted extortion charges following a “painstaking” 18-month investigation, during which she was allegedly caught on tape stuffing a cash bribe into her bra, according to a complaint.
“Dianne Wilkerson accepted these cash payments in exchange for her official duties and responsibilities,” said U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan during a morning news conference at the federal courthouse.Wilkerson, who was carrying $6,000 in her purse when she was arrested today, faces charges of attempted extortion and theft of honest services as a state senator, stemming from a money-for-legislation sting operation, officials said.
A federal criminal complaint alleges that Wilkerson was busted for accepting eight bribes, totaling $23,500, in exchange for her influence on Beacon Hill.One undercover video shows Wilkerson allegedly taking $1,000 in cash from an undercover agent and stuffing it into her bra during a June 2007 lunch at No. 9 Park.Wilkerson also allegedly used one $1,000 bribe to treat herself to a night of gambling and dining at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut.

'Heroes' Eris Quod Sum On NBC
The title of tonight’s episode, “Eris Quod Sum,” is Latin for “I am what you will be.” It shows up a lot on old New England headstones, and it’s kind of a reminder of our mortality: that even the person reading the headstone will someday be under one. What it seems to suggest in this instance, however, feels more like a threat: these characters are gonna keep flip-floppin’ back and forth between good and evil -- or maybe-good and maybe-evil, or kinda okay and kinda wayward, or sorta nice and sorta naughty -- forever and ever. “Nah-nah: You’re evil now, but I’m good, and soon you’ll be good and I’ll be evil!”
Elle (Kristen Bell) needs to become a major player. Body of Jennifer Hudson's Nephew Julian King Found In a Car!
The body of a young black boy recovered from a sport utility vehicle this morning is believed to be Jennifer Hudson's missing 7-year-old nephew Julian King, an FBI official told ABC News.Official confirmation of the body's identity is still pending.The Oscar winner is offering a reward for the return of her nephew.The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office and Chicago Police Department were investigating a white SUV on the city's west side today. Television footage showed police vehicles escorting a flatbed tow truck as it removed the SUV from the scene.

Julian hasn't been seen since Hudson's mother and brother were found shot to death in their home Friday afternoon. Watch True Blood Episode 8 - The Fourth Man in the Fire
So Bill is back from the, um, undead in the Oct. 26 eighth episode, "Fourth Man in the Fire," on "True Blood." Of course Bill didn't die; not that he's safe forever, but it's just the first season. And in case you were scratching your head trying to remember who the fourth man in the fire was, Neil (Kevin McHale) is the young guy who showed up each time they had to drag a body away, including Sookie's Gran.
Sookie's (Anna Paquin) concern for Bill (Stephen Moyer) was touching. (Somehow she always managed to have a cute outfit out when she sees him, whether she knows it or not.) The coming-out-of-grave lovefest was both sexy and strangely disturbing. Sookie telling Bill to bite her not on the neck (where people can see) shows she's not quite as comfortable about what people think of her having a vamp boyfriend as she might pretend.
The exchanges betwen Amy (Lizzie Caplan) and Jason (Ryan Kwanten) are pretty humorous. Something gets lost in the translation between Amy's hippy-dippy musings and Jason's very literal interpretation. Amy, being the first person who expects much of anything out of Jason, is naturally the one he opens up to about how his parents died and how he's the "worst brother in the world." Too bad it turns out Amy is a psycho for the V juice.

"Sex and Lies In Sin City" Movie About Sandy Murphy And Ted Binion
The name of Lifetime's new made-for-TV movie is "Sex and Lies in Sin City: The Ted Binion Scandal," but there's only one problem. There is too much sex and sin and not enough city. Seriously, how can you have a movie based in Las Vegas and show very little of the lights and grit that make the city what it is? Not to mention the fact that Binion (Matthew Modine) is a casino-owning billionaire, and showing how and where he made his money would've been nice.
To be fair, the movie, which is based on a true story, is mostly about Binion's possible murder/suicide case. That said, the man did have a life and a fast-paced, hard-partying reputation, and that is glossed over all too quickly.Instead, "Sex and Lies in Sin City" focuses on Binion's girlfriend, Sandy Murphy (a strut-happy Mena Suvari), a former stripper who was accused of killing Binion. A married Rick Tabish (Jonathan Schaech), Binion's business partner and employee of sorts, is also accused of having an affair with Murphy and helping her kill Binion.
Marcia Gay Harden delivers the flick's best performance as Binion's bitter sister, Becky Binion. At every turn, Harden spews more vitriol than Cruella De Vil with a bad hair day. But Harden is never cartoonish with her cruelty, just frighteningly convincing. She's positive that Sandy and Rick are guilty and is willing to do anything in her power to put the pair away.

William Balfour Is The Suspect In Jennifer Hudson’s Family Killing
Authorities in Chicago have confirmed that William Balfour, 27, IS in police custody now, and is suspected in the double-homicide of singer-actress Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother today. Balfour is also suspected of abducting Hudson’s nephew, Julian King, age 7. An Amber Alert has been issued for the child, who is 5′ tall, 130 pounds, last seen wearing a tan polo shirt and khaki pants. Balfour is refusing to tell authorities where the boy is.
Police have described the murders as resulting from “domestic abuse.” AroundHarlem.com quotes a source in Chicago saying that the murders were committed as an act of revenge. “The Hudson family kicked someone out of a house. He said he’d be back to kill them.” Suspect William Balfour’s address that is registered with authorities, is the address of Jennifer’s mother’s home.
According to the Illinois Department of Corrections, Balfour is on parole and has spent nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possessing a stolen vehicle. He was sentenced to seven years in prison in 1999. He’s 5-foot-5 and weighs 147 pounds. Authorities say he wears his hair in braids now.

When 4-year-old Andrew Burd arrived at a hospital in critical condition in the fall of 2006, doctors didn't have a clue as to what was wrong with him. Blood tests soon revealed that he had salt poisoning, or hypernatremia. Andrew's levels were off the charts -- almost double the norm and among the highest ever recorded.
Doctors turned to Hannah Overton, a 29-year-old pregnant mother of four who was in the process of adopting Andrew. She told them Andrew had thrown a fit that afternoon after he'd been fed a full lunch. Instead of giving him more food, she said she put a few dashes of creole seasoning in a sippy cup of water.

The mother and brother of Jennifer Hudson were found shot dead Friday at a South Side home, and police were seeking a missing child who is the nephew of the singer and Oscar-winning actress. "We can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation concerning the deaths of Jennifer Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson," Hudson's personal publicist, Lisa Kasteler, said in a statement. "No further comment will be made and the family has asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time."
Police spokeswoman Monique Bond said the deaths appeared to be the result of domestic abuse.Deputy Chief Joseph Patterson said a family member entered the home around 3 p.m. Friday, found a woman shot on the living room floor and left to notify authorities. Responding officers found a man shot in the bedroom, Patterson said. There was no sign of forced entry.
Police tape blocked access to the large, white house, where a crowd gathered outside.Authorities issued an Amber Alert for 7-year-old Julian King, and were seeking a 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban. McCain Volunteer Ashley Todd Assaulted By Obama Supporter
A 20 year old Republican volunteer worker has reportedly been attacked by an Obama supporting mugger in Pittsburg.Ashley Todd, 20 from Texas, alleges that she was robbed at knifepoint at an ATM and knocked down by a man who then carved a “B” in her face after noticing a sticker for John McCain on her car. The story first came to prominence from the SarahsArmy blog, then picked up by the Drudge Report who initially claimed Todd was a McCain campaign worker.
Police have told the media that they are exploring all angles, including the alleged political side.Besides the timing this close to the election, the story raises some interesting questions. Was the attack on Todd politically motivated, or is it an elaborate hoax?
There’s are couple of strange things: like Todd not immediately seeking help after the attack (despite her visible injuries), then only later reporting the matter to police, and then only getting medical help the following day. Women who are attacked sometimes don’t act rationally due to shock, and we wouldn’t suggest that her delays were solid evidence of the hoax.But then there’s the B. It’s backwards. The Ya Heard Award for this category goes to Kanye West, featuring T-Pain for “Good Life.” This cut kept a lot of us warm in the club last winter. I love the record, but I believe the actual award will go to Flo Rida featuring T-Pain on “Low.” The song was terrible in my ears, but somebody obviously loved it. I’m still trying to figure out where this “Florida” guy came from, and how is he making such an impact… Go figure.
The nominees for Hustler of the Year include: 50 Cent, DJ Khaled, Jay Z, Lil’ Wayne and P. Diddy.
Hands down, I think the award will go to Lil’ Wayne. This guy worked harder than anyone in the industry this year and pulled off an incredible album that nearly pushed 1 million copies in its first week.
As for the Ya Heard winner, that goes to DJ Khaled. He doesn’t get the award for any accolades, but for the question “What exactly does this guy do?” Every time I turn on my television I see this guys face. He’s on stage playing the hype man, or he’s in the back on the turntables, or he’s just in the picture standing around. Really, what is his contribution to the game? Anyway, he gets the Ya Heard award…it takes a lot of work to make no talent look like gold.
The nominees for Lyricists of the Year are: Jay Z, Lil’ Wayne, Nas, T.I. and Kanye West. Although I don’t believe he should walk away with this one, I see Wayne winning this award as well. Not that he is a great lyricist by any means, but I can understand how his hype can have some people think so.
The Ya Heard award for Lyricist of the Year is a tie between T.I. and Nas.
We give Nas this award because we’re tired of seeing him nominated for awards but never receiving one. It would be cool to see Nas at the podium blissfully offending everyone who criticized his recent album title. So, here’s to you Nas!
As for T.I., he is the most lyrical artist in the game right now. That includes Jay (who is getting a little sluggish by his standards) and Eminem (who is M.I.A.).

“Mr. Hustler,” DJ Khaled, will more than likely win this category on the strength of the numerous features in the video. However, Snoop’s “Sensual Seduction” was the best video of the last three years and is the Ya Heard award winner.

This award can go to none other than “A Milli.” After a-milli-and-one artists provided their own version of the song, this has to be tonight’s winner, as well as the Ya Heard award winner. Lil’ Wayne gets the second place spot in this category, and with “Lollipop” which was a huge smash with the ladies.
Bottom line, the dude is hotter than Hansel right now.

In last week’s column, I crowned Kanye’s “Graduation” as the best album of the year. But that was last week. This week, in looking at these nominees, it’s a hard call to make for the fact they are all great albums in their own right. I love Lupe’s new joint for its freshness and orginiality; I love Nas’ for its impact and perspective; Wayne’s for its call to arms to put time and work back into hip hop music; Jay’s for shutting up the naysayers and putting out another classic album. It’s difficult to judge them against one another, but a decision must be made…Contradicting my previous judgement, the Ya Heard award for CD of the year goes to Jay Z’s “American Gangster.” I, for one, didn’t think Jay had another such album in ’im. The album was incredible, and easily meshed the mainstream sound with gritty street tales.
As for the actual award tonight, I’ll say Kanye West will walk away with that one.

No stranger to bad taste, Flynt’s porno exploitation also takes a dig at Palin’s creationist beliefs, featuring a flashback scene in which a professor explains “a ‘big bang’ theory even she can’t deny!”We’re just hoping Mr Flynt doesn’t decide to take a shine to John McCain’s sexual potential – there wouldn’t be enough bleach in the world to clean the eyes.However it would be interesting to hear if the soundtrack, when it kicks in, has a merging of Sergei Prokofiev's Russian classics with smooth funk-wah jazz.

Steven Adler Starring On VH1's Celebrity Rehab 2 With Dr. Drew
VH1 has once again partnered with Dr. Drew Pinsky for a second season of the hit reality series “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.” The series, consisting of eight one-hour episodes, is slated to premiere Thursday, October 23 at 10pm.Similar to the first cycle, the second season of “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” will follow the real-life experiences of celebrity patients undergoing detoxification and treatment at a center in the Los Angeles area. The show will follow Jeff Conaway as he checks back into rehab after a series of back surgeries, setbacks and subsequent reliance on pain medications. Joining him in rehab are Sean Stewart (Sons of Hollywood), Amber Smith (model/actress), Rodney King, Nikki McKibbon (American Idol), Steven Adler (Guns n Roses ) and Tawny Kitaen (Actress). Gary Busey , who is 13 years sober from his cocaine addiction , will also be joining the cast to take the journey with the others and to share his experiences on the recovery process.
American Gangster: Larry Davis Premiers
The third season of BET's American Gangster premiers at 10pm EST this evening. The first episode of the acclaimed documentary series chronicles Bronx gunman Larry Davis.Produced by acclaimed screenwriter and author Barry Michael Cooper, the story was particularly personal. A Harlem native and groundbreaking urban journalist, Cooper explained the backstory on Larry Davis.
"A little over 20 years ago, I became aware of the Larry Davis story, as an investigative reporter for the Village Voice in New York. His story was like some kind of action movie, complete with a shoot out with the cops, a month-long manhunt, and his capture in the South Bronx, which police helicopters, an array of police tanks, and a squadron of what looked like 150 police officers. Nuts. But the twist to this action story became a thriller, when Larry told the media the cops were looking to kill him because he was about to make it public knowledge he was selling drugs for a group of rogue cops. Initially, I didn't believe him but after doing some interviews with some of his friends, people in the neighborhood, and even a few police officers who didn't want to go on the record, I don't think he made that story up. I believed him. And so did a Bronx jury that acquitted him in the shootout with the cops on November 19th, 1996, and the murder of 4 drug dealers on March 3, 1988," explained Cooper to HipHopDX this afternoon.
The Above The Rim and New Jack City writer added, "Larry was convicted of another murder in 1991, and was in prison for over 20 years. In February of this year he not only wanted American Gangster to do his story, he wanted me to produce it. A week before I was to interview him, he was murdered in prison. Needless to say, it is something that haunts me to this day, and I hope people tune in and watch tonight's episode. The Larry Davis story is tragic and compelling."
