From this wonderful Newsweek collection of campaign trails, we learn today that Palin’s shopping spree was a lot worse than the original outrageous $150,000 orgy of luxury.

Palin’s behavior is exactly what happens when some ignorant white trash wins the lottery: total excess, ending in bankruptcy. But she bankrupted an entire major political party, ha ha. Also, her behavior is exactly like that of a gangsta-rapper who briefly hits the big time and immediately covers themselves in golden trinkets. Good god, Sarah Palin is human garbage:

One senior aide said that Nicolle Wallace had told Palin to buy three suits for the convention and hire a stylist. But instead, the vice presidential nominee began buying for herself and her family — clothes and accessories from top stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. According to two knowledgeable sources, a vast majority of the clothes were bought by a wealthy donor, who was shocked when he got the bill. Palin also used low-level staffers to buy some of the clothes on their credit cards.

A disgusted McCain aide calls the Palins “Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast.”McCain staffers tell Newsweek that Palin spent “tens of thousands” more than the original $150,000 reported before the election, as well as “$20,000 to $40,000″ in clothes specifically for her idiot husband, Todd.

Brad Hanson Is Having Affair With Sarah Palin

Brad Hanson is Sarah Palin’s affair, according to the National Enquirer.Brad Hanson is Sarah Palin’s affair; at least that is what the ever so reputable National Enquirer says. Adding to the rumor, is allegations that Brad reportedly filed an emergency motion to have his divorce records sealed in Alaska. The National Enquirer is filled with photos and “evidence” about Brad Hanson and Sarah Palin’s alleged affair, which took place in 1996.

Brad Hanson was born in Montana, but he grew up in small town Alaska. He was a jock in high school and later became a Palmer football/hockey coach and property developer. He is a friend of Sarah Palin’s husband, Todd Palin, as the two bonded over sports and hunting. The two also ran a snowmobile dealership together until Todd allegedly discovered Brad and Sarah had been bonding over their shared interest in politics. Brad was married at the time, which was supposedly around 1996. Todd diminished the partnership after hearing stories about the affair.

According to reports, three members of Hanson’s family have sworn - one by affidavit - that Brad Hanson is Sarah Palin’s affair. This has been denied by Palin, and the McCain campaign has threatened to sue over this story, which clearly didn’t prevent the Enquirer from publishing.A Hanson family insider named Jim Burdett talked about the affair, and even passed a meticulous polygraph test, to give proof that the affair happened. Burdett says,

“I’ve known about Brad having had an affair for a long time, but it wasn’t until just recently that I learned his affair was with Sarah Palin. Sarah was elected mayor of Wasilla, Brad became a city council member in the nearby town of Palmer, and they started an affair. Todd found out about the affair and was so mad he broke up their partnership at the snowmobile dealership.”Another source, which remains anonymous, but also gave a sworn affidavit said.“Todd was away on business a lot and Sarah felt lonely. Brad was a good listener, and Sarah talked to him at length. Eventually, she real­ized she was falling in love with him. When Todd got back from one of his trips, Sarah told him that she had begun to have feelings for Brad.”Now that this alleged affair is out, we can get back to the political issues.

Charlie Gibson's Sarah Palin Interview on ABC

Those hoping that Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin would burst into tears or start speaking in tongues during her interview with Charles Gibson were no doubt disappointed by the first part of her much heralded “first interview" on "ABC World News" Thursday and then in a slightly expanded form on "Nightline." She did consistently mispronounce the word "nuclear;" but then so did Jimmy Carter, and so does George Bush, and they both became president.

It was a fascinating and unsettling interview nonetheless, first and foremost because it's been nearly two weeks since Republican presidential nominee John McCain announced the Alaskan governor as his chosen running mate and these are the first non-scripted words the American people have heard from her.

For days now, the media has obligingly reacted as if J.D. Salinger had suddenly decided to break his decades-long silence. Caught up in an anticipatory frenzy usually reserved for damage-control celebrity sit-downs -- Paris Hilton on "Larry King," Tom Cruise on "Oprah"-- everyone seemed to forget that this is a vice presidential candidate, a public servant who should not be playing hard to get with reporters and whose main job it is to articulate the positions and policies of her ticket.

Even Gibson acted as if he feared this might be the one shot the entire Fourth Estate gets, conducting what was essentially a high-level, high-pressure interview with a job candidate who quickly revealed that her skill set is heavy on can-do-attitude, and light on company policy comprehension. Appearing momentarily stricken by some of the almost professorially pointed policy questions -- and embarrassingly baffled by his reference to the Bush Doctrine -- the Alaskan governor never missed a beat, though in fine political style she managed avoid to more questions than she answered, or at least answered in a way that had little connection to the question.

An early question about her experience on the international stage led to a wonky description of her attempts to free America of its foreign oil dependence. Gibson’s probing of a videotaped claim that the Iraq war is a task from God led to a rather convoluted explanation - that it was really a paraphrase of an Abraham Lincoln quote that seemed, frankly, utterly dissimilar.

Increasingly specific questions about Iran and Pakistan were answered wth carefully vague though inarguably aggressive phraseology: America must never blink, or second-guess Israel. It should "keep an eye on Russia" and exercise all options regarding terrorism but work to create a world in which war was not the first option."War," Sarah Palin said with seeming utter sincerity, "is hell."

Palin seemed to relax a bit during the "Nightline" interview when, as she and Gibson strolled along the trans-Atlantic pipeline, the news anchor grilled her about her disagreements with McCain on global warming and drilling. She seemed willing to concede that human activity may be contribuing somewhat to the effects of global warming, but stuck with her support of drilling on 2,000 acres of now federally protected wilderness."I’m going to keep working on that with him," she said with a smile.

Still, the inevitable parsing and analysis of Palin’s answers and performance in this interview, however tempting, is almost beside the point. In this case, her actions, or non-actions, have spoken much louder than any words. She didn’t blink, she told Gibson, when McCain asked her to join his ticket. But she certainly blinked after. What sort of reform-minded politician waits two weeks before giving an interview?

Since when it is OK that the American people have to wait in breathless anticipation for its nominated candidates to speak to them en masse? Since when do we have to rely on a single interview, from a single source, to introduce us to a woman who claims she would be privileged to lead us? In a world that is measured by milliseconds, a broken-up hour is too short to offer, a week is simply too long to wait. Such manipulation of a public moment is simple exploitation. If Palin was trying to prove that she’s just a sense-talkin’ hockey mom from Alaska, she couldn’t have gone about it in a more wrong-headed way.

Palin Family Was Ordered Not To Disparage Trooper

Sarah Palin's family was warned by a judge three years ago not to disparage her sister's ex-husband, the Alaska state trooper at the center of an investigation into whether the governor abused her power trying to get him fired.A custody investigator appointed concluded that Molly McCann, Palin's sister, had disparaged Mike Wooten in front of their children, Judge John Suddock said during an October 2005 hearing. The judge warned her and her relatives not to disparage Wooten in front of the kids.

"Disparaging is not to be tolerated -- it's a form of child abuse," Suddock said, according to notes on the hearing included in the divorce file.The Alaska Legislature is investigating whether Palin, the Republican candidate for vice president, fired former Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan because he would not dismiss Wooten, a probe known as "Troopergate." Monegan has said he believes Wooten's continued employment was the reason for his dismissal, but Palin has denied that was the reason.

Palin spokeswoman Sharon Leighow did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press on Wednesday.Monegan was interviewed Wednesday by the Troopergate investigator, retired Anchorage prosecutor Stephen Branchflower.Monegan did not immediately return calls to his home Wednesday. But he told KTUU-TV that he was exhausted but would be available for additional interviews with Branchflower, if needed.

The executive director for Wooten's union, John Cyr, testified in the divorce proceedings that Sarah Palin and her father, Chuck Heath, filed so many complaints against Wooten that his superiors put him under a microscope and that he advised Wooten to find other work.

Sarah Palin Having Secret Affair!

Did Sarah Palin have an affair? That’s what the National Enquirer is sort of alleging, but sort of not.Of course, we must consider the source of this allegation that Sarah Palin had an affair which turns out was apparently the Obama campaign itself. The National Enquirer, supermarket tabloid extraordinaire, alleges sort of that Palin might have had an affair with her husband’s business partner based on a tip. Who says so and why?

Turns out upon examination that the story is based on an anonymous source which the paper itself describes as an “incredible charge” by a well-connected insider. The story apparently comes down to someone in the Obama campaign feeding the Enquirer a line. That sheepish disclaimer did not pacify Sarah Palin’s team who are going to make a political issue out of media bias and dirty tricks from the Obama campaign.

McCain adviser Steve Schmidt said earlier today:“The smearing of the Palin family must end. The allegations contained on the cover of the National Enquirer insinuating that Gov. Palin had an extramarital affair are categorically false. It is a vicious lie.”The McCain camp has denied the Palin affair rumor, and is threatening to sue the National Enquirer over these allegations. So far Obama himself remains silent.The tabloid issued a statement to the Huffington Post, where they barely spoke of their allegations of the Sarah Palin affair but yet brought up issues not even related to this story, and had the gall to speak of their “exclusives on John Edwards” in the statement as well. The Enquirer has stated that they will have a more detailed report next week. Give me a break.

The issue also writes about Palin’s 17-year-old daughter Bristol, whose pregnancy was announced on Monday. An insider tells the tab that Palin wanted to announce her daughter’s pregnancy and that a wedding date was set before McCain publicly announced Palin as his running mate. That was nixed by the baby daddy, Levi Johnston, who refused with those plans.

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin defended herself against criticism that she's inexperienced, saying she carried a bigger load as a small- town mayor than Democrat Barack Obama ever has.``Since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves,'' Palin, 44, said tonight at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota. ``I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a `community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities.''

Obama, 47, a first-term Illinois senator, has held up his work as a community organizer in Chicago as part of a record that he said shows his ability to lead. Palin, now the governor of Alaska, took aim at that approach and showcased in her first address to a nationwide audience the issues she and presidential hopeful John McCain will tackle.Palin is seeking to dispel questions about her qualifications and self-described status as a reformer that have swirled since she became McCain's running mate on Aug. 29. Palin is also trying to move past the attention drawn by the disclosure that her 17-year-old unmarried daughter is pregnant.

Of course, this can happen in any family. But it must certainly raise the question among the evangelical base about whether Sarah Palin has been enough of a hands-on mother.But in fact, that awful "evangelical base" is not the least bit offended. Why should they be? Bristol Palin is having her baby, and a marriage with the biological father is in the works. That's a success story. It is only Ms. Quinn who sees something wrong.

The New York Daily News has also named him as well and they have photos here of the hockey player and his fiancée and his young "Hockey Mom" to be.The left is trying to figure out how exactly to attack Sarah Palin and settled in on going after her 17-year old daughter over the weekend with horrific allegations of a faked pregnancy by her mom. It was a disgusting display and the campaign says that is one of the reasons they came forward with the pregnancy announcement today.

Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media to respect our daughter and Levi’s privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates.”

Bristol is due in late December, and plans on marrying her boyfriend, Levi, the father of her unborn child.The announcement of Bristol being pregnant was in response to quell the rumors that Bristol was actually the mother of Trig Palin, the 5-month-old son of Sarah and Todd Palin.Senator McCain was made aware of Bristol’s pregnancy before he chose Sarah Palin as his Vice-Presidential nominee last week.Barack Obama was asked about 17-year-old Bristol’s pregnancy, and he told reporters to “back off” this story and children are “off limits”.“It has no relevance to Gov. Palin’s performance as governor, or her potential performance as a vice president.”So fine, the story is out, and we need to move on. Is this really going to have a bearing on how you will vote?

Bristol Palin is Sarah Palin’s Daughter

Rumors are flying that Bristol Palin, Sarah Palin’s teen-age daughter, is the real mother of 5-month old Trig Palin. Did Sarah Palin invent an elaborate cover-up to keep her daughter’s pregnancy out of the public eye?So, is Trig really Sarah Palin’s baby, or is he her grandson? People are asking that question and are pushing for an answer. Most of the questions center around the fact that Sarah Palin didn’t announce her pregnancy until a few weeks before she gave birth. Photos of her teen-age daughter, Bristol (above right), late in 2007 show Bristol with a rounded tummy. The story is further complicated in that Bristol was taken out of school this past year for up to five months because of a bad case of mono.

What do you think? I doubt that someone as politically savvy as Sarah Palin would be so naive as to believe she could keep such a monumental cover-up secret while running as VP of the USA. And why would she attempt the cover-up to begin with? Teenage pregnancies are a rather common fact of life in modern society. The “shame and disgrace” that people felt years ago are mostly nonexistent these days. I hope the Palin’s will provide proof that Trig is their own quickly in order to counter these rumors. And, if the rumors are true, then handle them immediately in order to end all the speculating.

Tough call, but Sarah Palin edges out Dick Cheney for that distinction. Republican John McCain made the biggest gamble of his presidential bid by naming 44-year-old Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate Friday, a striking selection that he hopes will boost his support among women and evangelical Christians.Palin is a reform-minded conservative governor, a moose-burger-eating former small town mayor, a 1984 Miss Alaska runner-up, a "hockey mom" and an abortion foe who gave birth to her fifth child in April after learning from a prenatal test that he would have Down syndrome.At a rally in Ohio on Friday, she made clear her role on the ticket by praising Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's historic run, adding, "It turns out the women of America aren't finished yet, and we can shatter that glass ceiling once and for all."
