John Edwards’ mistress was in court yesterday afternoon. Rielle Hunter arrived with their rumored love child and refused to answer questions.John Edwards’ mistress Rielle Hunter arrived in court yesterday where a grand jury was meeting to investigate his campaign spending. Rielle also had with her, Frances Quinn, the rumored love child from their affair.

Rielle Hunter was escorted in to the North Carolina court house by two FBI agents and attorney, and she refused to comment on her reason for being there. Hunter’s attorneys also declined to confirm she was at the courthouse to testify before the jury.

Edwards is being investigated to see whether Edwards mishandled campaign donations during his presidential run. John has confirmed that the grand jury investigation is in regards to the $100,000 his political action committee paid Hunter for campaign videos. He has denied the money was given to Hunter in return for her silence on the identity of her baby’s father.

The National Enquirer reported that baby Frances Quinn is Edwards’ daughter, but Hunter has not confirmed. Meanwhile, Edwards has offered to take a paternity test to prove he’s not the father.Edwards’ cancer-stricken wife, Elizabeth, told Oprah in an interview earlier this year that she is unsure of the paternity of the baby.“I’ve seen a picture of the baby. I have no idea. It doesn’t look like my children, but I don’t have any idea.”

Rielle Hunter is Pathetic:Elizabeth Edwards

Elizabeth Edwards, the wife of disgraced former presidential candidate John Edwards, is finally speaking out about her husband’s very public affair with former campaign videographer Rielle Hunter.In her new memoir, Resilience, Elizabeth Edwards reveals she vomited in a bathroom after learning of the affair between her husband, former U.S. Senator and presidential hopeful John Edwards, and weird videographer Rielle Hunter.

When she heard, "I cried and screamed, I went to the bathroom and threw up," wrote Elizabeth Edwards, 59, who is battling terminal breast cancer.She says that John Edwards admitted to having an affair with Rielle Hunter just days after declaring his run for president in late 2006 - or nearly a year before the National Enquirer broke the story in December 2007.

Elizabeth does note that when John initially admitted the affair, he "left most of the truth out." Like the part about possibly fathering her kid, maybe?To protect her and their three children from scrutiny, Elizabeth says she urged John to quit the race, eventually won by Barack Obama. He did not.In August 2008, the Enquirer again reported he was the father of Rielle Hunter's daughter, but this time busted him visiting her secretly at an L.A. hotel.John was pretty much forced to admit that he hit that after that incident, though he still denies paternity. Elizabeth does not address this in the book.

And in the latest update, National Enquirer says they caught John Edwards red-handed visiting her in the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles, California. Read the story.

Rielle had driven to Los Angeles from Santa Barbara with a male friend for the rendezvous with Edwards. The former senator attended a press event Monday afternoon with L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on the topic of how to combat homelessness.The Inquirer says that when Edwards was confronted with reporters as he left Hunter’s room, he dashed around the hotel trying to hide, eventually walling himself into a bathroom.

Rielle Hunter is a producer and aspiring actress. She has been described as “formerly hard-partying girl who claims that she found enlightenment.” She is credited with writing and starring in “Billy Bob and Them”.Rielle met Edwards at a New York Bar. Of the meeting she says,“I didn’t think it was John Edwards because the public persona did not mesh at all with the person who was sitting in front of me.”

Hunter has a video production company, which was hired by John Edwards on a $100,000, six-month contract to terminate December 31, 2006. The allegations stem from this relationship. Hunter denies all allegations and says their relationship was strictly professional.Interestingly, the Enquirer also says that Hunter is now living in Chapel Hill, North Carolina in a gated community a few blocks away from Andrew Young, a key official in Edwards’ campaign. Supposedly Young has been in charge of looking after Hunter while she stays in hiding. And apparently HE is claiming responsibility for the baby, despite being married with children himself.
