Stanley Kamel Is American Television Actor

Stanley Kamel was an American television actor best known for his role on the USA Network series Monk as Dr. Charles Kroger, Adrian Monk's psychiatrist.Born and raised in South River, New Jersey,Kamel attended Rutgers Preparatory School.He started his acting career off Broadway, and broke into television with a role in Days of Our Lives as Eric Peters.

In his thirty years of professional acting, Kamel was a guest star on well over eighty television shows, including Mission: Impossible (his first television role, for which he went uncredited), Mod Squad, McMillan & Wife, Kojak, Quincy, M.E., Charlie's Angels, Mork & Mindy, Three's Company, Knight Rider, LA Law, Mr. Belvedere, Matlock, The Golden Girls, MacGyver, Melrose Place, Beverly Hills, 90210, ER, 7th Heaven, NYPD Blue, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Murder One, Dark Angel, Six Feet Under, The West Wing and Monk. In addition to guest starring on dozens of television series, his film work included Domino, Inland Empire, and The Urn.

He is most recently known for his role as Dr. Kroger in the popular USA Network television show Monk. In this show he plays an infinitely patient and ever supporting psychiatrist to the main character Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub), a genius detective that solves crimes in the most difficult circumstances and against the worst odds. Mr. Monk shares his views on these cases and many other problems that he has, such as his multiple phobias, with Doctor Kroger.

Monk’ Star Stanley Kamel Found Dead

Stanley Kamel, well known for playing Dr. Charles Kroger on the hit USA series “Monk,” has died, Access Hollywood has learned.Kamel was found dead in his Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday. He was 65.He had recently signed on to appear in the upcoming comedy, "For Better or For Worse," which IMDB.com reports is "A comedy about a pair of grooms whose family, friends, and exes threaten to turn their wedding into a disastrous event."

Stanley Kamel's family released this statement:Actor Stanley Kamel was found dead in his Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday, April 8, by his long time agents and friends, Donna Massetti and Marilyn Szatmary. Cause of death at this time is unknown... He is survived by his brothers Dr Stephen Kamel and Robert Kamel, 5 nieces and nephews, and 6 grand nieces and nephews.

On the USA hit series Monk, he played Dr Charles Kroger, the psychiatrist tending to the obsessive-compulsive title character, Detective Adrian Monk, played by Tony Shaloub.A working actor for nearly 40 years, Kamel appeared in several well-known shows, such as Murder One, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Cagney & Lacey, Days of Our Lives, Melrose Place and Beverly Hills 90210, among others.
