Gaetano Thomas Oteri is Cheri Oteri’s Father!!

Cheri Oteri, star of “Saturday Night Live,” lost her father, Gaetano Thomas Oteri, when he was allegedly murdered by Richard Fagan. Oteri and Fagan were roommates and business partners in Nashville.Fagan reportedly stabbed Oteri with a pocket knife last Saturday night and has officially been “charged with criminal homicide and is being held without bond.”

Gaetano Thomas Oteri was a music producer in Nashville. He collaborated with songwriter Richard Fagan on several songs and is credited with helping Fagan through some low points in his life.“Many years ago when Fagan was down and out, it was Tommy who took him in and put him on a path to songwriting stardom.”

On Saturday that friendship took a terrible turn when Fagan stabbed Oteri with his pocket knife, causing Cheri’s father to bleed to death. The ongoing investigation revealed a fight between the two broke out around 9 p.m. Less than two hours later, Police arrested Fagan for DUI where he admitted to taking six shots of alcohol. Oteri’s body was not found until Sunday afternoon when a mutual friend reported the house in disarray and no response to the door.

Oteri was 69-years-old at the time of his death.
