Charlize Theron Does “W”

The beautiful and talented Charlize Theron is the cover girl for “W” magazine. The Academy Award Winning actress reveals to the mag that she is disappointed in the lack of strong women movie roles, saying movies goers are obsessed with fluff.She says.“I asked Michael Seitzman, who wrote North Country, ‘Why don’t you write these kind of stories more; these roles for women?’ He said, ‘There isn’t the demand for it.’ It’s not necessarily Hollywood’s fault. People don’t go to see these movies. I think it’s a bigger problem. We’ve become completely fluff obsessed.”

I don’t think it is a problem at all. Life is difficult enough on the day-to-day basis, no one wants to see such serious movies. We would rather get lost in a wonderfully fun and silly movie, than see a film based on the true story of a mentally ill prostitute who becomes a serial killer.
