Zhang Ya - YouTube Video Blogger Arrested

The top videos on YouTube today feature a young Chinese girl talking for four and half solid minutes. Because I don’t speak Chinese, I’m not sure what she’s talking about, but someone else does and has translated. Apparently the girl, Zhang Ya, was arrested after ranting on YouTube about video games.

During the girl’s 4-plus-minute YouTube session, Zhang Ya complains about not being able to play her favorite video game because China instituted a 3-day period of mourning following the earthquakes that killed more than 40,000 people and injured 220,000 more. The time of mourning began on May 19 with a three-minute moment of silence while air raid sirens wailed.

Zhang Ya has now been arrested for her disrespect for the sufferings of the earthquake victims. She cursed the injured and others affected by the quakes. I don’t know about arresting the girl but a bitchslap might be appropriate.
