Britney Spears Gives Full Custody Of Children To Kevin Federline

After a year and a half of courtroom battles, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have reached an agreement in their custody dispute. Yesterday afternoon, Britney and Kevin signed legal papers, in which Britney has given full custody of their two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James and leaving Spears with visitation rights. This resolution comes as a bit of a surprise because Kevin’s lawyer revealed that Kevin had not intended to seek full custody. He said,“Kevin was not [out] to get custody. Kevin’s goal was to set up some kind of template so the mother of his children can co-parent. He said ‘I need to have Britney to be involved in the co-parenting of the kids but I need there to be a structure’.”
Kevin and Britney were set to go to trial over the custody arrangements next month, so this decision prevents the legal battle from taking place.
Kaplan said, “The case has been settled. The court still has to approve it. All the issues that would have been addressed at trial have been settled. I can’t speak to the exact terms of the deal. Orders now in place will stay in place.”This decision was probably made so Britney can continue to gain control over her health. An LA family lawyer said,
“Britney will have a better chance of winning more custody once she regain her health. This is just the end of Round One.”Britney has made significant strides in the past few months. Her father Jamie has taken control of her assets and other aspects of her life, which seem to be helping the fallen pop star regain control. Last month Britney was granted overnight visits with her sons, and has been spending more time with them. She has also started working on a new album.
