Ricky Martin Is Father To Twin Boys

Latin sensation Ricky Martin is now the proud father of twin boys.Ricky Martin, whose twin boys were born via a surrogate mother, are already in the care of Ricky, and his rep released the following statement:“The children, delivered via gestational surrogacy, are healthy and already under Ricky’s full-time care. Ricky is elated to begin this new chapter in his life as a parent and will be spending the remainder of the year out of the public spotlight in order to spend time with his children.”Martin, who hails from Puerto Rico, does not plan on returning to the studio to record until next year.

Particulars (names, where they were born) of the twin boys were not released.The actor/singer was a previous member of the Latin pop group Menudo when he was 12 years old and appeared in the popular ABC soap, General Hospital. He was already a major pop star in Spanish speaking countries before he made the crossover to English, releasing his first English album, self titled Ricky Martin, in 1999. It went on to become the top selling album of 1999.
