Raising the Bar Premieres On TNT

Meet Melissa Sagemiller, an American actress.Melissa Sagemiller is in the news as she stars in the latest Steven Bochco drama, Raising the Bar, which will debut Monday on TNT. Unfortunately, the legal drama has been met with some unfavorable reviews - describing the show as “setting the bar pretty low” and “cookie-cutter“. The ensemble cast of attorneys stars Mark-Paul Gosselaar, with Sagemiller tapped as Michelle Ernhardt, the D.A. who just happens to be sleeping with him.

Melissa Sagemiller was born on June 1, 1974 in Washington, D.C. She is 34 years old.Melissa started acting at a young age, and debuted on stage in To Kill a Mockingbird when she was 9 years old. When Melissa was 14, she was discovered by modeling agency founder Eileen Ford, while shopping at a jewelry store. She soon started modeling, and put her acting career on hold.

Melissa attended the University of Virginia, where she graduated with a degree in Art History. Upon graduation, she pursued acting again and studied at various acting schools. She has appeared in numerous films, including Soul Survivors and Get Over It (2001), Sorority Boys (2002), Love Object (2003), The Clearing (2004), Sleeper Cell and Life on the Ledge (2005, The Guardian and Standing Still (2006), and in 2007 appeared in the film Mr. Woodcock.
