Sidney Kimmel Is A Famous Producer

Sidney Kimmel is chairman and director of Jones Apparel Group, Inc., which he founded in the mid 1970s. From its inception, Mr. Kimmel infused the company with a commitment to producing quality apparel at a superior value, and he became sole owner of the enterprise in 1989. Since Jones Apparel Group, Inc. went public in 1991, the company has consistently delivered increased earnings per share each quarter and maintained a steady rate of growth.

Under Mr. Kimmel’s leadership, Jones Apparel Group, Inc., has become one of the world’s premier fashion houses, with such recognizable labels as Jones New York, Lauren by Ralph Lauren and Evan-Picone. Recent acquisitions include footwear giant Nine West Group, Inc., Polo Jeans, the Todd Oldham label and Victoria Jewelry.

Mr. Kimmel is a partner in Cipriani International, a world-renowned restaurant and catering concern with establishments in New York, Venice and Buenos Aires.
