'Jurassic Park' author Michael Crichton Passed Away

One of the world's best known authors, Michael Crichton, has died at the age of 66. According to an AP report his family announced that the best selling author of books like Jurassic Park, The Andromeda Strain and others had finally succumbed to a long fight with cancer.
While Crichton was best known for his books he was also a known fan of PC games. He helped to create a graphical adventure game for the PC in 1984 called Amazon that sold well and was acclaimed for adding things like music and color graphics (something which adventure games had not had at the time). In 1999 he co-founded the PC developer Timeline Computer Entertainment. The developer released only one game before shutting down, a poorly received PC action game based on his time travel novel Timeline that came out via Eidos in 2000. In 2002, Sega announced it would be publishing a new game based on an original concept by Crichton but that game was never published.
