Taylor Swift Is Teen Country Star

Meet Taylor Swift. From a recent break-up with a Jonas brother to her upcoming new album release, she is one of country music’s hottest teen sensations!It seems 18 year old country cutie Taylor Swift is more then a wee bit irritated over rumors that hit the Internet this past week suggesting she was pregnant with ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas’ baby.

“I have devoted my entire life to not having something like that happen,” the fired-up singer said. “It’s really, really scary that someone can just say something and it gets spread around the Internet and all of a sudden it’s a verified rumor, with no grounds.”So I guess the answer is no. She’s not pregnant. Taylor is currently out promoting her sophomore album called “Fearless” due for release next week.

Taylor Alison Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania so her age is 18. She grew up on a Christmas Tree Farm in Pennsylvania. Taylor won a national poetry contest while in 4th grade and began performing by age 10. She actually sang the national anthem at a Philadelphia 76ers NBA game when she was 11! Although her grandmother was a professional opera singer, Taylor’s tastes always ran more toward country music and she says that Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, the Dixie Chicks, Shania Twain and LeAnn Rimes all influenced her music.

Recognizing that Taylor was talented and dedicated to becoming a country western singer, her parents began making trips to Nashville where the 14 year old Taylor would perform casually and meet with songwriters in the area.

While performing at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Taylor caught the eye of music industry veteran Scott Borchetta, who signed her to his newly formed label. At 16, she joined the roster at Big Machine Records and released her debut single, “Tim McGraw,” in August 2006. Her first album ‘Taylor Swift’ landed her five consecutive Top Ten singles, a new record for a female solo artist, and earning multi-platinum sales. Taylor also received a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, an award she ultimately lost to Amy Winehouse. By the way, Taylor wrote or co-wrote all of the songs on her self-titled debut CD!

Her second album is debuting in late November and its called ‘Fearless.’Taylor Swift was the cover girl of Seventeen in the June 2008 issue. She was also named number fifty-two on Maxim’s sexiest women of ‘08. She recently sang the Star-Spangled Banner at game three of the World Series in Philadelphia on October 25, 2008. Her favorite outfit is a sundress and cowboy boots of course!
