The Two Mr Kissels:Andrew Kissel,Nancy Kissel,Robert Kissel,Hayley Kissel
The night leading up to his murder, Greenwich real estate developer Andrew Kissel sat slouched in a chair in his mansion looking disconnected as he watched television and listened to his wife say good-bye for the last time.
As a mystery car pulled up outside, there was an eerie feeling that someone was coming to get him. That is the depiction of Kissel's last night in a new Lifetime Television movie titled "The Two Mr. Kissels," which examines the murders of Andrew Kissel and his brother Robert. The movie, which was filmed in Toronto, features former "ER" star John Stamos as Andrew Kissel and Anson Mount as Robert Kissel.
Spanning several decades, the movie portrays the Kissel brothers' days of extravagant lifestyles and buying fancy cars and houses to their scandalous and violent endings.Andrew Kissel, 46, was found dead in the mansion in 2006, bound to a chair and stabbed multiple times. He faced sentencing on federal bank fraud charges of swindling millions by using forged mortgage documents to take loans using property he didn't fully own as collateral.
He was also being sued for millions by banks, creditors and his former partner in a real estate brokerage, Hanrock Group LLC.His brother Robert, 40, was drugged by his wife, Nancy, and bludgeoned to death with a metal statue in 2003 in Hong Kong, where he was working as an investment banker for Merrill Lynch.
"It's such an unlikely tale of two brothers and their families. What happened to them both felt oddly compelling," said Dan Wigutow, the executive producer of the movie who has worked on many true crime stories
