Vanessa Williams Penthouse Pictures have been floating around forever, and once again these naughty photos of the former Miss America are all the rage again today.Vanessa Williams Penthouse pictures were quite the scandal back in 80’s. Here is a look back to when it all started. Vanessa Williams was crowned Miss America 1984 on September 17, 1984. She was the first African-American Miss America and unfortunately she became the target of racist hate mail and death threats. This was only the beginning for Vanessa, as she would ultimately become the most controversial Miss America to date.

An anonymous phone call to Williams tipped her off that nude photos she had previously taken in 1982 were being shopped around. She thought that the photos were destroyed and had never signed a release for the photos to be published. Tom Chiapel, the infamous photographer who took the pictures, shot Williams and another female girl on girl nude. In the aftermath, Vanessa was forced by pageant officials to resign.

The photos were offered up to Hugh Hefner of Playboy, but he refused to publish them. Bob Guccione of Penthouse bought the rights of the pics from Chiapel and the photos were revealed in the September 1984 issue. Vanessa filed a lawsuit against Chiapel and Guccione, to the tune of $500 million, but dropped it so she could put the past behind her.

She of course went on to have a successful music career, a Broadway run and appeared in several TV shows. You can currently see the 45-year-old in the ABC hit show, Ugly Betty.
