Traci Rhode Convicted of Murdering Husband Scott Rhode
Traci Rhode, found guilty of murdering her husband Scott Rhode, dropped her appeal of the verdict and 10-year probated sentence that a state jury leveled against her in 2007.The Thirteenth Court of Appeals Thursday dismissed the appeal at her request, the public record shows.
The development follows recent action by the Texas Board of Nursing to suspend Rhode's nursing license as of Jan. 23, according to the board's verification system on the agency's Web site. She was initially licensed as a registered nurse in June 2003 and had been employed as a nurse in Harlingen.Rhode, who resides in Brownsville, declined to comment about both developments, noting that enough "trash and lies" have been printed about her.
Her attorney, Larry Warner, could not be immediately reached for comment. The Brownsville Herald has submitted a request to the Texas Board of Nursing under the Texas Public Information Act for the order leading to Rhodes' suspension from nursing.A jury in the 107th District Court found Rhode guilty of the October 2003 killing of her husband. She has maintained her innocence, claiming that he shot himself while she was bathing.
