Britney Spears Left Fans Waiting for 40 Minutes

Britney Spears upset fans last night when she stormed off stage for 40 minutes.The singer was just three songs into the Vancouver date of her Circus tour when the stage went black and Britney vanished.After keeping the audience waiting without an explanation, an announcement over a loudspeaker finally told the crowd excessive smoke around the stage had caused the interruption.

A female announcer at the city's GM Place said: 'The building is awfully smoky. It is uncomfortable for everyone on stage, including Ms. Spears.'Please extinguish all cigarettes - this is a non-smoking building, and the show will resume when the smoke on the stage is cleared.'The announcement provoked angry boos from the crowd, who had been in good spirits until the show's halt.

Further infuriating the crowd, the venue piped in organ intermission music normally used during hockey games.After the smoke finally cleared, Britney returned to the stage in a silver dress to perform her debut hit single ...Baby One More Time, and carried on with the show.As with all her previous shows on the Circus tour, which kicked off in New Orleans, Louisiana last month, Britney lip-synched her way through some of her biggest hits in a series of scantily-clad outfits.
