Matt Quinn WFAA Reporter And Wife Cathy Dead From Texas Wildfires


The wildfires that roared through Montague County on Thursday killed former Channel 8reporter Matt Quinn and his wife Cathy, according to a family member.The fires swept through their rural property in the county, which is on the Oklahoma border northwest of Fort Worth.

Cathy Quinn's adult son, Chris, was being treated for burns this morning at Parkland Memorial Hospital. He was in fair condition. Matt Quinn started at WFAA-TV (Channel 8) in 1980, after working for ABC News.He hosted a popular regular segment called "Matt Quinn's Chronicles."

Now today official confirm 90,000 acres destroyed and the death of WFAA-TV Dallas-Fort Worth former reporter Matt Quinn. Wife Cathy is also dead, son Chris’ condition is fair.Today in Teaxas, fires are still burning in: Hamilton, San Saba, Jones, Palo Pinto, Wise, Hood and Cooke. 93% of the state is under a drought.
