Tamara Mellon at Caribbean After Split from Christian Slater

This time last year Tamara Mellon and Christian Slater looked a pictured of happiness as they frolicked on the beach together in St Barts.But yesterday the Jimmy Choo shoe boss had only her daughter and a female friend for company after returning to the exclusive Caribbean island without the Hollywood star.The glamorous pair split earlier this month after two years together with both blaming the pressure of trying to keep a long-distance relationship going.

Tamara, who hit the beach in a an animal print bikini and oversized sunglasses, was this time accompanied on her holiday by her daughter Araminta.The 41-year-old, whose personal fortune is estimated at £100million, first started romancing Slater, 39, during his acting stint in the West End in 2007.Their transatlantic relationship appeared to go from strength to strength and at one stage it seemed Tamara was on the verge of moving to the U.S. with her daughter to be closer him.

And just prior to their split, there were even rumours that the couple would wed.A close friend told the Daily Mail's Richard Kay this week: 'We all thought Tamara and Christian were made for each other, but the pressures of their respective careers meant they were spending too much time apart.'Tamara always puts her daughter first and with two businesses - her shoe brand Jimmy Choo and American fashion label Halston - to run as well, it's all been too difficult.
