Lynne Spears “Through The Storm”

Lynne Spears “Through The Storm”
Details of Lynne Spears book Through The Storm have been leaked and while they themselves are not so surprising, the fact that she gives very personal, and confidential stories about Britney’s life is. Not leaving much for us to imagine, the book is not so much about Lynne and her parenting, but about Britney growing up as a pop star and all of her experimenting with sex, drugs and alcohol.

According to reports, Lynne gives stunning details that should be kept between mother and daughter. She left out nothing, including Britney drinking at 13 while still on the Mickey Mouse Club, losing her virginity at the age of 14 to an 18-year-old high school football player, and trying drugs at the age of 15 when she went to record her first album Baby One More Time, in L.A..As Britney’s career grew, and her relationship with Justin Timberlake developed, Lynne allowed her daughter to sleep with him, because according to a source,“Lynne thought Britney was in love and Justin was good for her.”

Also reportedly in the book, Lynne tells of a time when Britney was just 16 and was caught on a private jet with cocaine and marijuana. She goes on to say she regrets handing over control of Britney’s career to managers and allowing her daughter to be promoted as a sex object. Lynne blames Britney’s teenage years for her current issues as an adult that have resulted in her break down and having to be admitted to a hospital psychiatric ward twice this year.

While I am sure all of the details in the book are fascinating, the fact that Lynne puts such personal details about Britney out there is sad. Most teenagers do experiment with those things and especially a mother should keep such personal details confidential. It seems to entail that Lynne is all about making a quick buck off of her daughter, no matter what the cost. Who knows what kind of emotional damage Britney will develop from this.
