Russell Brand Apologizes to Jonas Brothers

Russell Brand apologizes to the Jonas Brothers for remarks he made during his gig hosting the 2008 Video Music Awards.British actor and comedian Russell Brand hosted the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) tonight and spent a good bit of the time making fun of the Jonas Brothers. He just couldn’t seem to get over the Jonas Brother’s virginity vow, their purity rings and their whole say no to drugs and premarital sex thing.

Brand is known to be a womanizer and since his current girlfriend is the drop dead gorgeous Australian actress Teresa Palmer, its no wonder he doesn’t quite understand why someone would choose celibacy if they don’t have to. Still, his jokes about Nick, Kevin and Joe didn’t go over so well with the audience. When Jordin Sparks took the stage she basically publicly bitch slapped him in front of everyone there.

“It’s not bad to wear a promise ring because not everybody, guy or girl, wants to be a slut,” she said.Ouch. That had to hurt.When Brand came back on the stage he kinda sorta apologized. He said he didn’t mean to be a jerk and really liked the Jonas Brothers and the whole virginity thing was ‘well done everyone’. (You know, in an English accent). Then he added, “A bit of sex occasionally never hurt anybody.”

So that was that, except he didn’t apologize for making fun of Bristol Palin or Levi Johnston for NOT being virgins.
