Elizabeth Edwards Dumps John Edwards On Account of John Edwards Affair

Ever since John Edwards confessed in August that he had cheated on his cancer-stricken wife with an employee on his presidential campaign, observers have been wondering whether another shoe eventually would drop.Several reports, including one in the Washington Post, said Edwards' wife, Elizabeth, was seen at a speech without her wedding ring. One woman who attended Elizabeth Edwards' speech told the Post she looked "fragile."

Meanwhile, the New York Post reported that John Edwards "is no longer living with Elizabeth and that the couple have separated." That report was not verified and neither of the Edwardses has commented.John Edwards has admitted that he was involved in an extramarital relationship with 44-year-old Rielle Hunter in 2006, when his wife's cancer was in remission. It has since returned. He denied reports in the National Enquirer that he is the father of Hunter's baby. In August, John Edwards told ABC News that Elizabeth Edwards was "furious" when she learned of the affair but that he felt the marriage would survive.
