Steven Tyler Falls off Stage Video: Aerosmith Frontman Falls

Steven Tyler falls off stage; video on YouTube? His name sometimes misspelled as Stephen Tyler, the Aerosmith frontman falls (photos below) during a concert in Sturgis, South Dakota and is airlifted to a hospital with injuries.Steven Tyler sustained injuries according to reports. The Aerosmith concert at Sturgis Motorcycle Rally at Buffalo Chip Campground in Sturgis, South Dakota, came to an abrupt end as the Aerosmith Frontman falls (photos below).

According to reports in the Rapid City Journal, the sound system failed during the band’s performance of ‘Love in an Elevator.’ Reportedly, the 61-year-old Steven Tyler began dancing on the catwalk of the stage to entertain the crowd, and wound up falling off of the stage and in to the crowd. Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry informed the crowd that the concert was over, as Steven Tyler had been airlifted to the hospital.

Mike Sanborn, spokesman for the Buffalo Chip Campground said: “He was good natured about it. He was in good spirits when he got in the helicopter. He was talking and joking with the physician. It was an unfortunate end to an extraordinary evening.” Steven Tyler was airlifted via helicopter to Rapid City Regional Hospital, and reportedly suffered head, neck and shoulder injuries in the fall. The seriousness of the injuries is not known at this time. There has been no official word from the band nor from the hospital, due to patient privacy laws.

As MTV News points out, the Aeorsmith 2009 tour has had its share of unfortunate incidents of which this is the latest. The tour has seen band members dropping out due to a litany of injuries. The tour’s kickoff in Venezuela was canceled when Joe Perry suffered an infection, in a complication related to prior knee replacement surgery. As Spinner notes, this injury caused the band to delay recording their album.

In July, several concerts were canceled after Steven Tyler sustained an injury. Additionally, bass player Tom Hamilton’s took timne out to recover from surgery and guitarist Brad Whitford missed concert dates when he suffered a a head injury when getting out of his Ferrari, which necessitated surgery.
