Justice David Souter Announces Retirement

Justice David Souter has decided to retire from the Supreme Court when the current term ends, according to several reports.NPR, which was first to break the news, reported:Souter is expected to remain on the bench until a successor has been chosen and confirmed, which may or may not be accomplished before the court reconvenes in October.

Reached at home, Supreme Court spokesperson Kathy Arberg repeatedly declined comment to Huffington Post on the report of Souter's resignation. Asked specifically if the report of Souter's planned resignation was inaccurate, Arberg repeated, "All I can tell you is no comment."NPR's Nina Totenberg adds that Souter 69, has informed the White House of his decision and reports that President Obama intends to appoint a woman:At 69, Souter is nowhere near the oldest member of the court, but he has made clear to friends for some time now that he wanted to leave Washington, a city he has never liked, and return to his native New Hampshire.

Britney Spears Requested a Strippers' Pole for Her London Hotel

The Britney Spears circus is well and truly underway in London.The Dorchester Hotel is already making plans for her arrival at the start of June.The singer has asked for a stripper’s pole to be installed in her favourite suite in the top hotel so she can work out between shows during the appropriately named Circus tour.

Hardly the most orthodox request they’re likely to have received at the five-star hotel.Asource said: 'Britney loves pole dancing, it is her new favourite work out.'She gets the toning that she needs without having to hit the gym, and she wants to be able to do it in the privacy of her own hotel room.'Keeping fit on the tour is very important as her show is full of rigorous dance routines, so Britney likes to do her pole dancing work out every morning when she gets up.'

Jon Gosselin has found himself in another tabloid mess after he was photographed leaving a bar with a mystery woman. This is the second time Jon has been accused of having an affair.Jon Gosselin just can’t keep his name out of the tabloids. The father of eight has been accused of cheating on his wife Kate for the second time in the past few months. Jon was not wearing his wedding band and “could barely walk.” After he spotted the photographers, Jon was overheard yelling, “Hey, babe! Babe! Give me my jacket!” According to the reports, Jon then told his gal pal to “get in the car!” and they sped away without turning on the vehicle’s headlights. Jon quickly jumped into defense mode calling the mag to tell them that he only went to the bar to speak to the owner.

“I went to Legends to speak to the owner. A friend of mine wanted to check out my car, so I let her drive it to her car,” he added. “Yes, I have female friends - but that is all she is. Kelly McGillis Admits She's a Lesbian

She’s been married twice and wooed Tom Cruise in "Top Gun," but 52-year-old actress Kelly McGillis has finally admitted she’s a lesbian.In an interview with lesbian website SheWired.com, McGillis told the reporter that her next lover will "definitely" be a woman: "I’m done with the man thing. I did that, I need to move on in life. It’s a part of being true to yourself.

Kelly McGillis, best known for playing teacher to Tom Cruise in "Top Gun," has confirmed long-held rumors that she's a lesbian, according to an interview on the website shewired."I'm done with the man thing," says McGillis, 51, who is twice married and twice divorced and has two teenage daughters. She added that "I had a lot of things happen that convinced me that God was punishing me because I was gay." McGillis was attacked and raped in her apartment in 1982 when she was a young actress working in New York.

Rielle Hunter is Pathetic:Elizabeth Edwards

Elizabeth Edwards, the wife of disgraced former presidential candidate John Edwards, is finally speaking out about her husband’s very public affair with former campaign videographer Rielle Hunter.In her new memoir, Resilience, Elizabeth Edwards reveals she vomited in a bathroom after learning of the affair between her husband, former U.S. Senator and presidential hopeful John Edwards, and weird videographer Rielle Hunter.

When she heard, "I cried and screamed, I went to the bathroom and threw up," wrote Elizabeth Edwards, 59, who is battling terminal breast cancer.She says that John Edwards admitted to having an affair with Rielle Hunter just days after declaring his run for president in late 2006 - or nearly a year before the National Enquirer broke the story in December 2007.

Elizabeth does note that when John initially admitted the affair, he "left most of the truth out." Like the part about possibly fathering her kid, maybe?To protect her and their three children from scrutiny, Elizabeth says she urged John to quit the race, eventually won by Barack Obama. He did not.In August 2008, the Enquirer again reported he was the father of Rielle Hunter's daughter, but this time busted him visiting her secretly at an L.A. hotel.John was pretty much forced to admit that he hit that after that incident, though he still denies paternity. Elizabeth does not address this in the book.

Taylor Hicks, Natalie Cole on American Idol:American Idol Top 4

Natalie Cole's the first of tonight's three guest performers, singing Something's Gotta Give. It's a fitting title for a results show, and she looks and sounds great -- she's just the kind of performer to show these five the standards that have been set for them. Even when Natalie's in a part of the song that isn't a natural fit for her voice, she makes it sound like it's exactly what she intended to do.One more Idol will bid us farewell tonight, but only after we see performances from Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks, Natalie Cole and Rat-Pack mentor Jamie Foxx.

Ryan asks Matt and Kris to stand on one side of the stage, and Allison and Danny to stand on the other. Ryan then asks Adam which group he thinks he belongs in, and the poor guy winces. Wouldn't you? I hate when they pull this crap; it's so awkward. Adam says that based on last night, he'll stand with Allison and Danny. But no sooner does he make the trip, Seacrest pulls him over to Matt and Kris and tells him he's in the bottom three. I'm honestly shocked! I'm also shocked that Allison and Danny are safe automatically, and judging by her jaw dragging on the floor, so is Allison. But, can we talk about Adam Lambert? I thought that dude was untouchable, and I'm glad to see that he's got competition. Woo to the hoo! Can I also say a giant "ha!" to Simon? America didn't listen to him about Allison.

Natalie sings "Something's Gotta Give" and looks fantastic! Yes, she's very thin, but I gather her weight's due to her struggle with Hepatitis C. Clearly, it's not stopping her from performing (or touring this summer), so bravo! Her performance is jazzy, although the end is a little sharp. But the audience and the judges all give her a standing ovation... because she's Natalie Cole.Taylor Hicks (he's skinny, too!) is back in all his Soul Patrol glory to perform his single "Seven Mile Breakdown." It sounds exactly like every other Taylor Hicks song, which is not a bad thing. It's just his funky, bluesy, down-home kind of style. Has anyone been following Taylor's career? Seen his shows? I feel like it's my birthday, or Christmas has come early: Kris is sent back to safety! Kris and Allison are safe! Me and my unborn baby girl are doing a happy dance right now. She seems to kick a lot during this show... could it be her love of music? Or her disdain for Simon? Only time will tell.

Jamie Foxx Performs
While I'll give him props for his being a decent mentor, I cannot stand his hit, "Blame It." I might have accidentally fast-forwarded through it. Hee hee. After the song, Jamie tells Ryan that these are some of the most talented artists he's seen in the last ten years and hopes the audience continues to support them after they're off the show. Aw. Then he ruins it by plugging his movie.

Of course, Adam is safe. Come on, you didn't think he was going home, did you? So, we say goodbye to Matt Giraud. Though he had some shaky weeks, I think that if he sticks with his jazzy, R&B-Justin Timberlake thing, he could go far. Good luck, Matt! (P.S. I love that he has tears in his eyes).

Britney Spears has denied she is pregnant with her third child after a DJ made the announcement live on air.Ryan Seacrest, who also hosts American Idol, revealed that he had been told by a ‘reliable source’ that the singer was preparing for a new arrival.But Britney’s spokesman Adam Leber has insisted there is no truth to the story. She's absolutely not pregnant. I have no idea where this ridiculous rumour came from,' he told US celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.

Alan Thicke Is a Canadian Actor & Songwriter

Alan Thicke (born Alan Willis Jeffery; March 1, 1947) is a Canadian actor, songwriter, and game and talk show host. He is best known for his role as Jason Seaver, the patriarch on the ABC television series Growing Pains.Thicke hosted a Canadian game show on CFCF-TV in Montreal called First Impressions in the late 1970s and the prime time celebrity game show Animal Crack-Ups in the late 1980s. In 1997, he hosted a television version of the board game Pictionary.In the early 2000s, he hosted the All New 3's a Crowd on the Game Show Network.

Thicke was also the host of his own popular talk show in Canada during the early 1980s, called the The Alan Thicke Show.Based on the success of his talk show, Thicke was signed to do an American late night talk show Thicke of the Night.Thicke had a successful career as a TV theme song composer. He often collaborated with his wife Gloria Loring on these projects, which included the themes to the popular sitcoms Diff'rent Strokes and The Facts of Life.

Apart from Growing Pains, Thicke also appeared on the American television series Hope & Gloria, which lasted 35 episodes. In 2004, Thicke hosted the Miss Universe Canada pageant.
