Popularly known as ‘D.C. Madam’, Deborah Jeane Palfrey has been found guilty on charges of running a high-end prostitution ring and money laundering. See photos of the lady who controlled the prostitution business in the powerful corridors of Washington.The weeklong trial in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia included the testimony of 13 former escorts, most of whom said that Palfrey was careful not to talk about prostitution explicitly. But the women said they often discussed the subject with Palfrey in veiled terms.The interesting fact is that Deborah was once considered a viable running mate for Republican Presidential hopeful, Senator John McCain!
Deborah is the former owner of Pamela Martin and Associates which, she still maintains, provided legal escort services that catered to adult fantasies from 1993-2006. She has been nicknamed the D.C. Madam by the news media.Born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, Palfrey became involved in the escort business working as a paralegal in San Diego and later as a cocktail waitress.
Palfrey appeared on ABC’s 20/20 as part of an investigative report on 4 May 2007. The scandal has led to the resignation of Ambassador Randall L. Tobias from his State Department position. Also named was Washington Times columnist Harlan Ullman of the Center for Strategic and International Studies.She is said to possess some 10,000 to 15,000 phone numbers of very high-profile clients.
You might also remember her in the case of former Senator David Vitter who had acknowledged in September last year that he used the services of a Washington escort service owned by Deborah.Palfrey, wearing a gray suit, appeared calm when the jury handed down the verdict which carries a maximum of 55-years prison sentence.
