Philip Haynes Markoff is a Boston University School of Medicine medical student who lives in Quincy, Massachusetts. He is originally from Sherrill, New York. He was arrested in Boston and charged with the murder of 26-year-old Julissa Brisman who advertised massage services on Craigslist. He is alleged to have shot her to death on April 14 at the Marriott Copley Hotel. He has also been charged with the armed robbery and kidnapping of an escort, also allegedly met through Craigslist at the Westin Copley in the Back Bay on April 10.

A police officer in Boston (or many) is trying to make big bucks by selling this false story to the TV stations. What else is new?? Philip is an intelligent man who is just trying to live his life so if you could leave us alone we would greatly appreciate it. We expect to marry in August and share a wonderful, meaningful life together.”

In another interview, Megan McAllister said: ‘I will stand by Philip as I know he is innocent. ‘Philip is a beautiful man inside and out,’ McAllister said in a message to a reporter on a social networking Web site. ‘He is intelligent, loyal, and the best fiance a woman could ask for. He would not hurt a fly!’

Philip Markoff Is Suspected "Craigslist Killer" of Julissa Brisman

Boston cops on Monday night branded a 22-year-old pre-med student the "Craigslist Killer" who murdered a pretty New York masseuse and attacked at least two other escorts in hotels.Philip Markoff, a Boston University student who lives in Quincy, a harborside town 10 miles south of Boston, will be arraigned on murder charges today.Cops credited "high-tech leads and old-fashioned shoe leather" for the arrest. Cops stopped Markoff at 4 p.m. Monday as he drove south of the city on Interstate 95, Davis said. He agreed to come in for questioning and was arrested at headquarters.



Cops said the brainy blond doctor wanna-be has no rap sheet, but they think he has preyed on sex workers for a while. Police begged other victims to come forward."He is a predator," said Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis. "There may be other victims out there, and we want to help you."Markoff, who was arrested after cops tailed him for several days, will be charged in Boston Municipal Court with the murder of Julissa Brisman. The slain 26-year-old New Yorker advertised her services on craigslist and was shot in a posh Boston hotel April 14.

Markoff also will be charged with kidnapping and robbery for an attack four days earlier in another luxury Boston hotel on an erotic dancer who advertised online. Police believe the April 16 armed robbery of a Las Vegas hooker in a Rhode Island hotel is also connected.Brisman's mother was glad to hear there was a break in the case, but she was too distraught to talk."Her mother was very pleased, but when she saw the pictures [on TV], she broke down and was just crying. We turned it off. You have no idea how fragile she is," said family friend Mark Pines. "It is great that they found him, but it's not going to bring back our girl."

Julissa Brisman was recently working as a masseuse at the Marriott Copley. Julissa Brisman completed only 26 years of her life when she was murdered horrifyingly while dating a Colorado man.

Brisman had a hotel room on the 20th floor of the Marriott Copley Place. It is there that police say she fought off her attacker only to be shot multiple times to the torso.Police found Julissa Brisman at 10 pm Tuesday evening in her hotel room. CPR and EMS declared her dead on the scene. Police believe Julissa Brisman had placed masseuse services on Craigslist.A spokeswoman for the Marriott Copley Place says the shooting is an “isolated incident”.
