Lindsay Lohan's split from girlfriend Samantha Ronson has clearly been unhelpful in her constant battle to maintain a healthy weight.Now, in a bid to take her mind over her recent romantic upheaval, the Mean Girls actress is holidaying in Hawaii with her younger sister Ali and a few friends.But the troubled star's weight loss was all too apparent when she showed off her skinny figure in a skimpy bikini yesterday.

Following a heart-to-heart with DJ Samantha last Thursday night, the 22-year-old jetted to Hawaii for some much needed time out.Wearing a black and white bikini bra and black bottoms, Lindsay looked super slim as she chatted to friends and swam in the lava rock pools.In between swimming and enjoying the sun, Lindsay repeatedly checked her Blackberry for messages and made friends with a local dog.

She also caught up on some reading with a telling book entitled The Little Teal Book Of Trust by Jeffrey Gitomer, which teaches the reader how to trust people and be trustworthy.Friends of the actress say her recent weight loss is a cry for attention following her split from Samantha on April 4.A pal told America's People magazine: 'She is a self-destructive person. It's all part of her cry for attention.'She wants Sam to see how bad she's hurting and she wants Hollywood to see her as a "tortured artist" who is wasting away.'

Lindsay Lohan & Samantha Ronson Breaks Up on Valentine's Day

Lindsay Lohan and DJ gal pal Samantha Ronson canceled a Valentine's Day gig in South Florida, saying they are too sick to travel.They were scheduled to host and spin at Passions, a late-night club connected to Hollywood, Florida's Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino."We really feel bad, and I work sick when I can, but unfortunately I couldn't drive to Miami, so I'm stuck in New York City with doctor's orders not to fly," Ronson tells PEOPLE. "Any reports otherwise are false and unfair."

"Lindsay and Samantha stayed out late last night in New York City, and are not feeling well," Amanda Senoff, director of marketing for Passions, tells PEOPLE. "A doctor said Sam was too sick with the flu to travel and Lindsay is also feeling sick. So they rescheduled for March 7."A source close to Ronson tells PEOPLE, "They are both sick with ear infections. Sam needs her ears, and flying with an ear infection is a risk that she can't really afford to take."

The situation leaves Passions, which was paying big bucks for the popular pair to entertain, without a headline DJ and host for the combined Valentine's night/President's Day weekend, the busiest time of the year for south Florida tourism."I conferenced all of Lindsay and Sam's managers for three hours today trying to remedy the situation, and they agreed the girls are sick," adds Senoff, who recently joined Passions after a similar stint at Borgata in Atlantic City. "What can I say? I am disappointed because this is my first booking for Passions, but these things happen."

Lindsay Lohan has a half-sibling, she wrote Wednesday on her MySpace celebrity blog."My father just let my family and [me] know, amongst other [things] that he had another child after my little sister Aliana," Lohan, 22, writes in a post titled "Random Thoughts."She continues: "Or maybe he had it before Aliana?? Either way, he cheated on my mother and that really sucks."

The paternal grandfather of young starlets Lindsay and Ali Lohan has passed away at the age of 73.Lindsay Lohan, who is in a stable relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson, got the sad news today that her grandfather Richard Lohan had passed away due to colon cancer. Lindsay’s father, Michael Lohan, has issued a rather dramatic statement:“My father just, literally, died in my arms. I notified all my kids and my lawyer notified Dina’s attorney. Let’s see if she has the decency and respect to bring my kids to the wake and funeral. THIS will show her true colors!

“Thus, not even a call. But that’s par for the course with Dina! She didn’t even send a card or visit when he was sick.”This sad news comes after a week-long dispute between Lindsay and her father. Lindsay Lohan In Hospital After Being Hit By a Motorbike

Lindsay Lohan was taken to hospital after being hit by a motorbike on a night out clubbing.The actress had been partying with her girlfriend Samantha Ronson in New York when the bike collided with her early on Saturday morning, sources said.Lindsay's dad Michael Lohan confirmed to the New York Post his daughter had been in an accident.He said: 'She's not hurt. That's all I really care about.'

An employee at the Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan told the paper Lindsay was treated and released at about 4am.It was not clear if an accident report was filed.Lindsay has a history of mishaps on the roads - but on most occasions she has been in the driver's seat.In August 2007 she made a plea deal on misdemenour drunk-driving and cocaine charges involving two separate arrests.

The deal meant she was sentenced to a day in prison, but she famously spent just 84 minutes at Lynwood jail.The Hollywood star's first DUI arrest was in May 2007, when she crashed her black Mercedes in Beverly Hills after a night of wild partying.She was whisked away to hospital before police arrived, but cocaine was recovered from her car.Two months later Lindsay was busted again just 11 days after leaving rehab.

Although many agree that Michael Lohan should discuss his concerns for his daughter Lindsay, with her as opposed to the media, it appears that he may have legitimate reasoning.Lindsay Lohan and close pal Samantha Ronson have been spotted partying it up four different times in the last week. Details of the affectionate correspondence appear under the headline, “Lindsay’s Lesbian Love Letters!”
