Jack Bauer’s Back in ‘24: Redemption’ On FOX
Have you missed ‘24′ like me? Well, Jack’s back in an all new movie Sunday night on FOX!Sunday night, September 23rd, Jack Bauer, played by actor Kiefer Sutherland, is back in ‘24: Redemption,’ at 8 p.m. on FOX. The two-hour movie is a prequel to the seventh season of ‘24.’
Last season was really tough on Jack — he was released from a Chinese torture prison after 20 months; he kills one of his own buddies, Curtis; bad family dynamics involving his nephew, dad, and brother (both his dad and brother are now dead we think); and his girl - also held and tortured by the Chinese - doesn’t remember him! So, Jack finds himself traveling the world and winds up in Africa, where he gets caught up in a military coup. Yep, Jack’s back.

Because of the writer’s strike last year, ‘24′ has been off the air for almost 2 years - which has been like wondering in the wilderness for ‘24′ junkies like me. Season 7 begins January 11th, 2009.Though Jack is definately a man of mystery, there are a few things we know about him and his life from the last 6 seasons of ‘24.’
Jack Bauer was born on February 18, 1966 in Santa Monica, California so his age is 42.His father is Phillip Bauer, who basically ratted out his country to the Chinese. Jack’s mother is unknown. Jack had one brother, Graem Bauer who died after his father Phillip injected him with a lethal dose of phenobarbital.
Jack has a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Master’s Degree in Criminology and Law from the University of California at Berkeley. He entered the U.S. Army and eventually joined the elite Delta Force. He is highly decorated though very modest - his medals include the Silver Star, the Purple Heart, and the Legion of Merit. He ended his career in the Army as a Captain.
After the Army, Jack worked for both the Los Angeles Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics unit and for the Central Intelligence Agency as a case officer in the clandestine service. He is still loosely connected to Counter-Terrorist Unit (CTU) - however if you know some of the spoilers from upcoming Season 7, how long is anyone’s guess.
Jack Bauer has demonstrated great proficiency with weapons, a superhuman resistance to interrogation, and the ability to understand Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Farsi, and Serbian. This makes sense because Jack has been kidnapped and tortured by terrorists and other bad guys from those people groups.Jack Bauer has even been known to make Chuck Norris cry.Jack’s wife, Teri, was murdered by Jack’s former partner the evil Nina Myers. They had one daughter, Kim. He reportedly is in love with Audrey Raines but, she currently doesn’t remember him because she too was tortured by the Chinese.
