Grammy Nominees 2009 Revealed

Nominations for the 51st Annual Grammy Awards were announced tonight with Lil Wayne and Coldplay leading the field.Lil Wayne topped the list with eight nominations, Coldplay garners seven, and Jay-Z, Ne-Yo and Kanye West each earn six nods. Alison Krauss, John Mayer, Robert Plant, Radiohead and Jazmine Sullivan receive five each, and Adele, Danger Mouse, Eagles, Lupe Fiasco, George Strait, and T.I. each have four nominations.

Lil Wayne Died? True Or Rumor?

Earlier there were some reports that Lil Wayne died from a gun shot during the weekend in a gang feud. It even mentioned Lil’ Wayne not shot and killed.The source reporting of the non-existent death came from a fake website, which fakes itself to look like a BBC news report.

According to the MTV news, Lil’ Wayne is not dead, nor was he shot. Apparently, two people were and injured but not in a serious condition at the location he was at. Parez Hilton has also confirmed that Lil Wayne is not dead.He had a history with guns and when Wayne was 12 , he accidentally shot himself in the chest with a .44-caliber.

Seems like people in the internet had to create some rumour. At first, they created a false report that Katt Williams had died in a plane crash, and a sizzling rumor an hour ago ‘Lil Wayne died’.

Rumors of a Lil Wayne sex tape are circulating on the internet from suspect sources. Learn the truth.Hip Hop board reports the rumor that a video is being shopped around to potential buyers of Weezy with an unknown R&B singer.…”But the alleged footage ended up in the wrong hands an rumor has it that a group of men are now shopping the tape around.”The original source of the story appears to be Media Takeout. They claim to have identified the R&B singer named Nivea in the tape.“THIS TAPE WAS RECEIVED FROM AN UNKNOWN SOURCE THAT WE MUST KEEP UNDER WRAPS……THIS WAS A SHOCKER TO ME AND PROLLY WILL BE TO THE WHOLE WORLD THE LINK TO THE VIDEO IS BELOW……….ENJOY!! I GUESS .”

The download link is bogus and we believe the story to be false. In fact it appears that Lil Wayne is being targeted by rumor mongers for some reason. Just last month, untruthful rumors about an auto accident involving his daughter were spread.Time for it to stop. There is no Lil Wayne sex tape from any reasonable source that we can find.

Lil Wayne’s Daughter is Alive and Well

Yesterday internet rumors began swirling that the beautiful daughter of Lil Wayne had died. Those rumors turned out to be completely untrue, as confirmed by her Aunt and attendance at school today.Although Celebrityunplugged was not the source of the rumors or even the first website to write about them, we clearly participated in their spread along with other sites by publishing an article about them.

We do not know why people start vicious rumors electronically and on the web. They can be very hurtful to family members and friends involved.This one apparently started as a series of text messages and emails which, which were then repeated on websites which created a frenzied pitch of internet search activity by the evening on August 10th.

Our writer reacted to that activity and thought she had the story right from the sources but the bottom line is it was a hoax. As a celebrity gossip site we will publish rumors as any other site does but always try to get the story right.In this case we got it wrong. Our apologies to the families and friends of Reginae Carter, and to our loyal readers, for getting suckered into participating in a terrible rumor.

Rumors are circulating that rapper Lil Wayne's daughter has died in a car accident. Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, has an 8-year old daughter, Reginae with ex-wife Antonia Johnson.Most of the internet chatter I've seen has cited text messages as the source of the tragic news, but I haven't seen anything to confirm the rumor. Interestingly enough, text messages were also blamed when rumors of Bernie Mac's death began circulating early last week. (The comedian died yesterday morning.)

Lil Wayne “Tha Carter III” Breaks Sales Record!

While everyone was watching Mariah Carey and Madonna’s album sales to see who would sell the most, rapper Lil Wayne slid in there and is projected to far surpass the ladies. Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter III” sold 423,000 copies in its first day alone, where as Mariah’s E=MC2 sold 463,000 copies in the first week. Lil Wayne is expected to sell 900,000 copies this week, which will be the best sales debut of the year.

“Tha Carter III” has been pushed back several times and singles were leaked on internationally over the span of about a year, but that did not seem to harm the “best rapper alive” sales. His hit single “Lollipop” has dominated the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, staying at number one for five consecutive weeks. The song has reached success in Canada making it #10, in the UK it reached #26 on downloads alone, in New Zealand it reached #3, and on the United World Chart it reached #6.

“Lollipop” is Lil Wayne’s most commercially successful single of his career, as it is his first top 10 single, his first #1 on the Hot Rap Tracks, and his first #1 on the Billboard charts.Lil Wayne’s previous albums, “Tha Carter” and “Tha Carter II” sold approximately 1.1 million and 1.4 million copies.

Lil Wayne Arrested For Drug Possession

Rapper Lil Wayne was arrested for felony drug possession early on Wednesday when his charter bus was stopped at a California-Arizona border checkpoint, authorities said.Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was arrested in southwestern Arizona on suspicion of possessing cocaine and ecstasy, as well as drug paraphernalia, authorities said. He was being held in Yuma County Jail on a $10,185 bond according to reuters.

Two other passengers on the bus, Curtis Stewart and Harold Johnson, were arrested for marijuana possession, said Capt. Eben Bratcher, a Yuma County Sheriff's spokesman.Border patrol agents stopped the bus at about 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday after a dog alerted them to possible drugs on board, Bratcher said.The bus, with 12 people on board, had been traveling east from California.
A further inspection found 105 grams (3.7 ounces) of marijuana, 29 grams (1 ounce) of cocaine, 41 grams (1.45 ounces) of ecstasy and more than $22,000, agents said.

Also recovered was a .40 caliber pistol registered to Carter in Florida and authorities were checking to determine whether he broke any gun laws, said Ramona Sanchez, a Drug Enforcement Administration spokeswoman in Phoenix.This is not the first brush with authorities for Carter, who comes from New Orleans and was proclaimed rapper of the year in August 2007 by The New Yorker magazine.His previous legal trouble came in July, when he was arrested in New York after being found smoking marijuana and carrying a weapon.
