Crooked House Divided: Jon & Kate Plus 8' Divorce Announcement

Jon and Kate ready to litigate? After months of speculation, the famed reality couple from TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus 8" is heading to divorce court. In a much-promoted episode of the hit series Monday night, Jon and Kate Gosselin, the parents of eight children, announced in separate interviews they were separating; seconds later, text appeared on a black screen to add that the couple had decided to "legally dissolve" their 10-year marriage. The children will stay in the house, the couple said, and Jon and Kate will switch off living there.

And the show, apparently, will go on. TLC executives declined to comment Monday, but the Gosselins had committed to a full season of 40 episodes and indicated they would continue allowing camera crews access to film the family's life, just not with Mom and Dad there together.The announcement was hardly a surprise. Viewers of the 2-year-old series had seen the couple's relationship deteriorate recently, and even people who don't watch have been exposed to their problems through an endless stream of headlines -- "Caught With Other Woman" and "Inside Jon's Prison" -- in the tabloid and celebrity media.

Monday's episode opened with the delivery of playhouses for the children. But tensions between the couple were evident -- even with something as simple as placement of the houses. More than 30 minutes passed, however, before the status of their marriage was addressed.

"Kate and I have decided to separate," Jon said, sitting alone on the couch."I was too passive," Jon said of their relationship. "I just . . . went along with everything. Now I finally stood up on my own two feet and I'm proud of myself."

Kate offered her own outlook: "It's very uncomfortable at this point because Jon has a lot of anger towards me and I would love to discuss it with him but he won't talk to me," she said. Before the recent strife, they were just a couple trying to manage a set of twins and rambunctious sextuplets. The combination of his cool and calm demeanor and her sometimes controlling and overly organized personality were first seen on the one-hour special "Surviving Sextuplets and Twins" on Discovery Health in 2006. Its success eventually led to the TLC series. It centered mostly on the couple's home life in Pennsylvania and the idiosyncrasies involved with raising a gaggle of children.

But with the success came their indoctrination into the tabloid swamp. And as the show entered its fifth season in May, the lens has focused less on the kiddie chaos and more on the turbulent marriage.Both Jon and Kate have been plagued by rumors of infidelity in recent weeks -- he with a 23-year-old teacher and she with her bodyguard. Added to the turmoil was an investigation by the Pennsylvania Labor Department into the show's possible violation of child labor laws, an allegation TLC has denied.

Jon and Kate Divorce Announcement Spoiler

Kate and Jon Gosselin will announce their divorce on Monday, an entertainment website says. The Jon and Kate announcement spoiler comes after weeks of tabloid warring, and the mom and dad from reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8 are on the brink of an official split, according to RadarOnline.The site featured a video of Kate's brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Jodi Kreider saying the Gosselin marriage was in trouble. "Six months ago, she [Kate] came to Jon and said hey, it's over,’’ Kevin said.

Jon and Kate have been rumored to have been living apart for months and accusations of infidelity have hit both parties. Kate has been accused of having an affair with bodyguard Steve Neild while Jon has been accused of a months long affair with teacher Deanna Hummel. TLC has been running a promo for the big announcement.

Kevin Kreider said members of show’s production crew had conveyed their moral discomfort with how the pair were acting and what they were filming. The TLC network has reportedly scheduled a special one-hour edition of Jon & Kate Plus Eight for Monday. Forty shows are expected to air this year.

Kate Gosselin Hot Bikini Pics

Kate Gosselin flaunted her bikini bod while vacationing with her eight kids (and bodyguard Steve Neild) at Bald Head Island, NC, Sunday. (A free tummy tuck was among the many perks the 34-year-old reality star received as a result of shooting the hit TLC show Jon & Kate Plus 8.) Kate and Co. arrived in the N.C. resort town by ferry earlier this week -- along with camera crews. (The Pennsylvania labor department is currently investigating whether the TLC show is complying with the state's child labor laws.)

“They were so normal,” Amanda Jones, an employee at island gift shop Riverside Adventure Co., told local paper The Star-News.She added that 8-year-old twins Cara and Madelyn picked up two shark’s teeth and silly putty. “They paid for their own things," said Jones.Their shopping trip was quick: “It was very, let’s get in and out,” Jones said. “It was like, please don’t take note of us.”Missing from the trip? Jon Gosselin. He was last spotted at an upstate New York bar with two women on Memorial Day.

Jon & Kate Plus 8 Season Premiere:Jon and Kate Plus 8 Divorce Rumors

Jon & Kate Plus 8 kicked off season 5 on Monday May 25, 2009. The long awaited new ‘first’ episode have finally aired on TLC, and many of us are viewing the reality show from a different perspective and a good deal of skepticism.The show has morphed into something far removed from when Jon and Kate had no time for anything other than tending to family. The Gosselin’s have become very successful, receiving $50,000 per episode. This has allowed them to shed their old home and plunk down money on a $1.35 million estate in Wernersville, PA.

Kate is no longer the ‘organic’ cook. She doesn’t do the laundry. The family has a personal chef, housekeeper, behind the scenes caregivers, a gardener and Kate has a personal assistant. So the ‘crazy life’ they used to speak of is history. That is not to say that things aren’t still crazy - just in a very different way.

Kate’s brother Kevin Kreider and his wife Jodi have shared the fact that the reality show IS NOT real. Even TLC has acknowledged that the couple are struggling with marital issues. We have also recently heard that the rift between Jodi and Kate occurred when TLC wanted to pay Aunt Jodi, and feature her more often on the show. Kate wouldn’t allow it.We’ve heard that Jon has signed a contract that says he can do his own thing, provided he shows up on filming days. He is reported to be staying in an apartment over their three car garage.

On the new episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8, the birthday party planning and celebration activities were interspersed between candid snippets of conversation regarding the deterioration of the Gosselin marriage. Kate said, “Very swiftly we turned into two different people and it’s just hard.”Kate admits that she has been hard on Jon while they have been raising the children. But she doesn’t believe that it has driven Jon to his currently situation. She emphasized several times that he has made some very poor decisions and she has a lot of anger, and doesn’t appear willing to take any of the blame for his “eratic behavior”.

She admits that for at least the past six months, and probably longer, Jon has resented her extensive travel schedule while he has been left at home to tend to the eight children. Kate was quick to say that Jon has help at home and isn’t shouldering the burden all on his own, as some might think.We heard Kate say multiple times that she loves what she does. Jon, on the other hand, can only be described as miserable. He looks puffy and like he may be on medication. His speech is slower and he seems less alert. Kate says he suddenly hates their fans. She admits that she used to as well but now really appreciates them - even the naysayers, because they keep her in line.

While getting the kids ready to head to the party store, Kate mentioned that Jon needed the weekend off and would not be home. This seems to lend credence to the rumors that they have been living apart. Kate has been relying more heavily on Cara and Mady when she is solo parenting.Jon admitted that what started out to be a way to document his kids lives has turned into a business. He stresses that it is not the life he would have chosen, but it is the life he had handed to him when the sextuplets were conceived.

Kate loves her life but acknowledges that being on the road and away from the kids has a downside. Recently one of her kids called her by the babysitter’s name. It brought on a case of guilt, but she believes that as long as her brood is happy, healthy, safe and loved, then she will continue with the book tours and a full media schedule.We saw tears from Kate as she shared the statistic that parents of multiples have triple the divorce rate. As far as what the future holds, they weren’t sure. While the couple are clearly heading in two different directions right now, they vow to remain focused on the kids.

Kate Gosselin Appears on Larry King Live

Kate Gosselin of TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8 said the focus on her current marital woes is "a result of our situation -- our very public lives.""We, as you know, have a reality show," she said on Thursday's Larry King Live while promoting her new book, Eight Little Faces. "Everyone wants to know everything about us. And I feel like this is a situation where, you know, you can't believe everything that you read. You know that. I know that."

"And so we are dealing with it privately," she went on. "We are handling it one step at a time. And I think the important thing to remember is that we love our kids to pieces. They are safe and happy and healthy. And of all times, their birthday is coming up. And I'm just thanking God for five wonderful years with eight wonderful kids. And, you know, we're just -- we're focusing on them."

Asked if their kids -- twins, 8, and sextuplets, 5 - are aware of coverage of her husband Jon's affair with 23-year-old school teacher Deanna Hummel, Kate said, "They attend a very quiet, private school where, you know, people aren't paying attention to that. They're investing their time in their kids' education and activities. And, no, they are, at this point unaware. But they are very aware that we love them very much."

King also read a statement from Jon, who -- despite video, pics and on-the-record interviews -- denies cheating on his wife. "These allegations are false and just plain hurtful," read the statement. "As I adjust to the attention that comes from being in the public eye, I need to be more careful and aware of who I'm associating with and where I'm spending my time. The bottom line is I did not cheat on Kate. I'm sorry for putting my family in this awkward position, given some poor decisions and bad judgments I've made recently. I'm working through this difficult time with my family and my family is my top priority."

Jon Gosselin has found himself in another tabloid mess after he was photographed leaving a bar with a mystery woman. This is the second time Jon has been accused of having an affair.Jon Gosselin just can’t keep his name out of the tabloids. The father of eight has been accused of cheating on his wife Kate for the second time in the past few months. Jon and Kate are TLC’s big money maker, as their show Jon and Kate Plus 8 is an addiction for people like myself. However, I don’t think anyone could have predicted that Jon would find himself in this kind of predicament again. A few months ago, Jon was photographed with women at a bar, of whom he allegedly told that he may be getting divorce and things were tough. Now, US Weekly snapped pictures of Jon and a mystery woman leaving a bar.

Jon and the mystery woman were leaving a club around 2 am around his hometown in Wernersville, Pa.. Jon was not wearing his wedding band and “could barely walk.” After he spotted the photographers, Jon was overheard yelling, “Hey, babe! Babe! Give me my jacket!” According to the reports, Jon then told his gal pal to “get in the car!” and they sped away without turning on the vehicle’s headlights. Jon quickly jumped into defense mode calling the mag to tell them that he only went to the bar to speak to the owner.

“I went to Legends to speak to the owner. A friend of mine wanted to check out my car, so I let her drive it to her car,” he added. “Yes, I have female friends - but that is all she is. I’m not going to end my friendships just because I’m on TV.”Meanwhile his wife Kate, who is highly criticized for her harsh demeanor towards him, was promoting her new book “Eight Little Faces” in Washington.Adding to the rumors that Jon Gosselin is having an affair, The National Enquirer is also reporting that Jon was spotted kissing a woman, who wasn’t his wife, at a hotel near his house last week.

Gosselin admitted it’s not easy being on TV and raising eight, but insists he did not cheat, “This struggle has definitely put some tension in our marriage. But I never cheated on Kate. Kate and I are together.”In the past, he also told interviewers, “I always thought I would be, like, 54 years old and marry 19-year-old or something.” I am a huge fan of the show, and I can see that the publicity is putting a strain on their marriage. Jon and Kate Plus 8 Divorce Rumors!

Jon and Kate Gosselin of TLC’s docudrama Jon & Kate Plus 8, which is about their family life with their two sets of multiples, were reported to have serious marriage problems now that Jon has started spending time and partying with college girls as claimed by InTouchWeekly.com.

Jon and Kate are the parents to 4-year-old sextuplets namely Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel and 8-year-old twins namely Cara and Mady. The children were the result of infertility treatments called IUI, otherwise known as intrauterine insemination. That means there were no embryos made or left over from the procedure.

As reported, Jon was seen hanging out at Mimi’s martini bar in Huntington, Penn. which is just three hours away from the new home he and Kate moved into with their children. That time, he met some girls from Juniata College who invited him to a house party. A senior even said to Star Magazine, “He walked in with two girls he met at Mimi’s bar. It was so cool.” Jon then continued to play beer pong and even had a nightcap at Memories Sports Bar & Grill where he reportedly got drunker. He continued flirting with the college girls and mentioned to one that he and Kate might be getting a divorce. Star Magazine further reported that one witness saw Jon dirty dancing with several of the college girls coupled with neck and mouth kissing. Thereafter, he was seen leaving with several of the girls.
