Janet Jackson Pays Ttribute to Michael Jackson At BET Awards 2009 (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Janet Jackson and her father Joe Jackson attended the BET Awards on Sunday night in Los Angeles, in order to be on hand for a tribute to Michael Jackson.Joe, who sat in a ringside seat next to the Rev. Al Sharpton, was dressed in a black hat, dark glasses and a dark suit. He said, “I wish the world had recognized him when he was living. Right now, he’s bigger than ever. But I wish he was here to see all this, to hear all this.”

Jamie Foxx opened the show in a red leather “Billie Jean” jacket and demonstrated Jackson’s signature Moonwalk. Foxx admitted he hadn’t done it since 1983 and said, “I hope I can make it.” He told the crowd, “No need to be sad. We want to celebrate this black man.”

Janet Jackson took the stage and spoke briefly before the video tribute began. She said, “My entire family wanted to be here tonight but it was too painful. To you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family. He will forever live in all of our hearts. On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for all of your love, thank you for all of your support. We miss him so much. Thank you so much.”

Michael Jackson believes he won’t be around long enough to see his children grow up with his deadly disease. Jackson is reportedly asking his sister Janet Jackson to raise his three children when he’s gone.Michael seems to think he won’t be around for long and is concerned about his three young children. He seems to feel sister Janet would be the best with his children.

“Please raise my kids, Janet. You’re the only one left I trust!”“Michael feels the end is near,” a family friend told the Enquirer. “He’s terrified that if he dies, his children will end up with his aging parents or his brothers.”“He knows Janet will give his kids a mother’s love and see that they grow up away from the showbiz spotlight.”Michael Jackson, 50, has Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 10 from his ex-wife, Debbie Rowe. But Prince Michael II called “Blanket” was adopted in 2002.

“Michael is in bad shape,” a friend stated. “He has respiratory problems, heart palpitations, is losing weight rapidly and is now worried that he may have contracted the killer flesh-eating disease. He has begged Janet to look after the kids.”It’s said that his health issues started soon after his last plastic surgery.

“He’s been visiting a Beverly Hills clinic receiving antibiotics through an intravenous drip,” disclosed the pal. “Michael has difficulty walking, often has to use a wheelchair and spends most of his days in bed, at the doctor’s office or in the bathroom.“His sole companion is his longtime nanny Grace Rwaramba. Michael knows Grace loves the kids, but doesn’t think she can cope with them on her own.

“Debbie, mother of Prince and Paris, has been out of the children’s lives and only sees them rarely. Janet sees them all the time and is more like a mother to them than anyone.”“Family members have offered to help, but he’s afraid of the children being exploited. For that they should be congratulated. So naturally Jermaine Dupri got a tattoo of Janet Jackson posing as a virgin on his flesh. Go figure.

Specifically, the Jermaine Dupri Janet tattoo depicts her as the Virgin Mary, immaculately impregnated with child and all.The tattoo artist is named Jun Cha, but he might as well have been named WTF. Janet Jackson Case Overturned in Court

A federal court has thrown out the FCC’s $550,000 fine against CBS for airing the Janet Jackson - Justin Timberlake “wardrobe malfunction” during the 2004 Super Bowl.The U.S. government’s campaign against television indecency was dealt a blow on Monday when a court overturned a $550,000 fine against CBS Corp television stations for airing a glimpse of pop singer Janet Jackson’s breast during the 2004 Super Bowl broadcast. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit said the Federal Communications Commission had “arbitrarily and capriciously departed from its prior policy” that exempted fleeting broadcast material from actionable indecency violations.

Jackson’s right breast was exposed to almost 90 million TV viewers for a fraction of a second during the live 2004 Super Bowl football halftime show in what fellow pop singer Justin Timberlake later called a “wardrobe malfunction.” Timberlake ripped off part of Jackson’s bustier exposing Jackson’s breast during the show. Despite the brevity, lawmakers and regulators were outraged and vowed a crackdown on broadcast indecency.

Janet Jackson announced her ‘Rock With You‘ tour today while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, after a seven year hiatus.“I’m here to kick off my ‘Rock With U’ tour,” Janet shared.What’s interesting is that she has setup a separate phone number for her fans to call her and tell her what songs will they like to listen while she’s on the stage.“Our first show is September 10. And I’ve set up a number for fans to call in and to leave what old/new songs you’d like to hear [at the concert]. The number’s 323-622-8139. Give me a call and let me know!”

So… you got the number?? Now, go ahead and tell her what you would like to listen to, if you’re going. You could have been lucky if you were there at the show since Janet gave two free tickets to everyone who was there!Janet also told Ellen she is working on trying to get her brothers to do a Jackson 5 reunion.

Meanwhile, Janet recently praised the designer of her notorious nipple-baring Super Bowl costume, saying that he is a great “love” in her life.“I don’t blame him; he didn’t rip it. Janet Jackson Nip Slip!!

After the wardrobe malfunction heard round the world, you’d think that Janet Jackson would be a bit more cautious with her undergarments.At the 19th Annual Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards, on April 27, Janet was honored with the Vanguard Award. In honor of the occasion, she wore a white jumpsuit and pinstripe blouse … unbuttoned all the way to her navel. The peep show was bad enough when she was accepting the award, but it almost went full force when Janet’s shoe got caught on her pants and she tripped. Luckily for her, she saved her fall and went on her way, without exposing herself completely. We just missed a Janet Jackson nip slip.

Ellen DeGeneres presented Janet Jackson with the Vanguard Award, which honored her work in increasing the visibility and understanding of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. Mariah Replaces Janet's Saturday Shift

Exit Janet, enter Mariah.The latter diva is pinch-hitting for the former on this weekend's Saturday Night Live after Jackson was forced to cancel her appearance due to the flu.Carey will serve as musical guest, while Superbad star Jonah Hill will host.It's Carey's first appearance on the sketch comedy series in over 10 years. The singer's latest album, E=MC2, is due for release on Apr. 15.

Jackson had been scheduled to perform in support of her most recent album, Discipline, which debuted atop the charts last week.However, after her ailment worsened enough for her to visit Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Monday, she elected to cancel her SNL appearance and focus on getting well, her rep said."She's been battling the flu like everyone else," Jackson's rep Patti Webster told E! News on Tuesday. Jackson was not admitted to the hospital, and her condition was said to be improving.
