Kate Winslet Hot & Seductive Shoot for Marie Claire Magazine

Kate Winslet Hot & Seductive Shoot for Marie Claire Magazine
She's the holder of this year's Oscar for Best Actress and an acknowledged beauty. But inside Kate Winslet says she still feels like the fat schoolgirl who was nicknamed Blubber and locked in the art cupboard.‘I was bullied for being chubby. Where are they now!’ she tells this month's Marie Claire.‘I had, “No one will ever fancy me!"... well into my teens. Even now I do not consider myself to be some kind of great, sexy beauty. Absolutely not.'

But mother-of-two Kate says she has come to terms with her body as she has grown older: 'I don’t mind the way I’m ageing.... I think I look my age, and that’s fine.'I don’t think I look younger than 33 and I don’t think I look particularly older than 33. I think I’m sort of holding it together.’Kate, who reclines on a bed in a figure-hugging black dress, also admits that she sometimes has a little help getting camera-ready.'I do think it’s important for young women to know that magazine covers are retouched. People don’t really look like that.

'In films I might look glamorous, but I’ve been in hair and make-up for two hours; someone’s been lighting a scene for three hours.'With the nudity in The Reader, for example, even I was like, “Damn, I look good.” And that was the lighting – it was a bit of body make-up. I don’t believe in pretending those things don’t go on.’Kate is married to director Sam Mendes, and lives with their son Joe, five, and Winslet’s daughter Mia, eight, in homes in New York and Windsor. But the Reading-born star says they have been considering moving their families back to Britain on a more permanent basis - in order to be nearer their families.

Kate Winslet Winner of Oscar Best Actress (VIDEO )

Kate Winslet Winner of Oscar Best Actress (VIDEO )

Kate Winslet wins the Best Actress Oscar for her role in the movie, “The Reader.” See Winslet’s Academy Award winning performance video from The Reader, and meet the five amazing actresses nominated for the 2009 Academy Awards Best Actress - Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet, Anne Hathaway, Melissa Leo, and Meryl Streep.Five outstanding actress are nominated for Best Actress for the 2009 Academy Awards.

Kate Winslet is up for her role as Nazi Hannah Schmitz from ‘The Reader’ and won! While there was a list making the rounds on the internet that gave Kate the win, she’ll have to wait and see what happens on Sunday - naturally, the Academy denounced the list of rumors. This is her sixth Oscar nomination and would be her first win. Kate has taken home a lot of hardware this award season, both for this role and for her role in ‘Revolutionary Road’. She won a Golden Globe and a SAG award for playing Hannah Schmitz, although they were for Best Supporting Actress. She has also taken home a BAFTA and numerous critic awards.

Meryl Streep received a nod for her role as school principal in ‘Doubt’, and she broke an Oscar record in the process, as it marks her 15th nomination. Despite her record number of nominations, Meryl has only taken home the Oscar twice - one for Best Supporting Actress in 1979 for ‘Kramer vs Kramer’, and one for Best Actress in 1982 for ‘Sophie’s Choice’. Meryl has taken home awards for this role from numerous critics associations and the SAG award for Best Actress in a leading role.

Anne Hathaway was nominated for her role in ‘Rachel Getting Married’. Anne took home the Critic’s Choice award for this role, but is definitely a long shot for the Oscar. Regardless of what happens, Anne will get on stage, as it has recently come out that she will join host Hugh Jackman for a song-and-dance opening number.

Melissa Leo is competing with her role in ‘Frozen River’, where she plays a woman who helped illegals enter the country. This is her first Oscar nod, and this role marks the first time she’s been nominated for major awards since her Daytime Emmy nod for her role in ‘All My Children’ back in 1985. She says she was surprised by the nomination and does not expect to walk away with the Oscar, however she is enjoying every minute of prepping for the big day. She likens it to preparing for a wedding and does not want to take the opportunity for granted.

Angelina Jolie rounds out the category for her role in ‘Changeling’, where she plays a grieving mother who’s son disappeared. This is Angelina’s second nomination - she won Best Supporting Actress in 1999 for ‘Girl, Interrupted’. She received numerous nominations for this role, but has been shut out at all the awards. While she’s not favored to win at the Oscars, Angelina promises to look better than usual on the red carpet, as there are reports that she has been going all over town to the various jewelers looking for the right necklace for her dress. Apparently, she’s settled on a $20 million diamond bobble. Can’t wait to see what that looks like!

Kate Winslet Wins Best Actress At Bafta

Kate Winslet Wins Best Actress At Bafta

Kate Winslet moved a step closer to Oscar glory tonight after winning the Best Actress award at the Baftas. She is now favourite to take an Academy Award later this month for her role in The Reader, in which she plays a former concentration camp guard. Miss Winslet, 33, turned up at the glittering ceremony at the Royal Opera House in London in a black gown by New York designer Zac Posen, Prada shoes and Chopard jewellery - accessorised with an umbrella.

Bafta awards winners

The heavens had opened just as she and her fellow stars, including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Daniel Craig and Goldie Hawn, arrived on the red carpet. But the rain failed to dampen spirits or hairdos on what is becoming one of the year's most prestigious showbusiness events.Once inside, all eyes and ears were on the host Jonathan Ross, who was awarded the job despite having only recently returned to the BBC after his three-month suspension. He started off the show by announcing: 'I'm your host Jonathan Ross. I am honoured and a little bit surprised to be here,' causing a ripple of laughter.

Ross continued by giving Miss Winslet a light ribbing for the emotional speech she made at last month's Golden Globes, where she won Best Actress for Revolutionary Road and Best Supporting Actress for The Reader. Tonight's award was the first Bafta Miss Winslet has won in 14 years - she took her first for Sense And Sensibility in 1995. And she is yet to win an Academy Award. But in recent years Baftas success has been seen a key indicator of Oscars glory. in 2008, French actress Marion Cotillard unexpectedly won the Best Actress prize for La Vie En Rose and two weeks later took home an Oscar.

Sally Hawkins, Mickey Rourke Among Winners at Golden Globes Awards 2009

Sally Hawkins, Mickey Rourke Among Winners at Golden Globes Awards 2009
On a night when no one expected anyone other than Heath Ledger to win a posthumous Golden Globe, the ceremony managed to come up with a few surprise winners. In a deeply emotional moment in an otherwise lighthearted ceremony, Ledger’s win, for his role as the Joker in the Batman film “The Dark Knight,” reminded Hollywood what it had lost — a terrific young actor who had yet to fullfill his potential.

The announcement of Ledger’s name by presenter Demi Moore was met with a standing ovation by the crowd, followed by “Dark Knight” director Christpher Nolan’s short but moving speech.“I accept this with an awful mixture of sadness and intense pride,” said Nolan, adding that Ledgers’ death a year ago at age 28 meant “a hole had been ripped in the future of cinema.”

If the Golden Globes are indeed a portent for Academy Awards nominations, then the night’s biggest winner has to be Kate Winslet, who won two awards — after losing out five previous times. Winslet was the first winner of the night, for her supporting role as a Nazi guard in “The Reader.”Near the end of the ceremony, Winslet was an emotional, happy wreck when she was named best actress for her harrowing role as an unhappy 1950’s housewife in “Revolutionary Road” (directed by her husband, Sam Mendes).

The sentimental winner of the evning was Mickey Rourke, who took a next big step on his unlikely comeback trail by winning best actor in a drama for his role as a down-and-out former pro in “The Wrestler.”“It’s been a very long road back for me,” said Rourke to a cheering crowd. The same could be said of Woody Allen, who ended a creative slump when his Spain-set “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” was named best picture in the musical or comedy category. Allen, who never attended the Osacrs in his prime, was predictably absent last night, too.

The underdog ended up a top dog when “Slumdog Millionaire,” about a young Indian man’s hard-scrabble life, was named best picture in the drama category. On the TV front, Tina Fey continued to enjoy the best year of her creative life. “30 Rock,” which she created and stars on as the harried producer of a “Saturday Night Live”-like show, won for best comedy series.

But Fey — who took home several Emmys last year for the show, co-starred in the hit comedy “Baby Mama” and practically single-handedly revived “SNL” with her impersonation of presidential nominee Sarah Palin — was forced to take a back seat to the antics of “30 Rock” co-star Tracy Morgan, who hogged the mic with a pseudo-drunken speech.Fey got her moment in the spotlight a few minutes later —- she won for best actress in a comedy series, and with the stage to herself delivered a hilarious rant against her detractors on the Internet.

The speech was in stark contrast to another of the night’s big winners. Actress Sally Hawkins may have stayed at the podium a bit too long, but her teary, emotional acceptance was genuine. The little-known London actress received a tremendous career boost after winning best actress in a musical or comedy for her role as an eternally optimistic schoolteacher in the British film “Happy-Go-Lucky.” Among Hawkins’ fairly formidable competition: Meryl Streep, Frances McDormand and Emma Thompson.

Paul Giametti finally got a small measure of retribution for his Oscar snub four years ago, when he failed to be nominated for his acclaimed role as a prissy, insecure wine enthusiast in “Sideways.” Giametti was named best actor in a miniseries or TV movie for the title role in HBO’s “John Adams.”Anna Paquin’s win for best actress in a drama series for “True Blood” proved the 25-year-old New Zealand actress, can handle sexy grownup roles. Paquin, who earned an Oscar for 1993’s “The Piano” at 11 (which was also her first Golden Globe nomination), won for for her role as a mind-reading waitress with a taste for vampire love in the HBO series. And maybe now, with “Mad Men’s” win for best TV series last night, the ‘60s-set drama may finally draw some viewers.

Kate Winslet Graces Vanity Fair

Kate Winslet Hot Vanity Fair Photos
Kate Winslet Vanity Fair pictures are all the rage today. The actress bares all for the magazine, resulting in her most explicit and sexy photo shoot yet.Kate Winslet vanity Fair pictures are incredible, it is no wonder they are causing the internet to go crazy! Kate does several seductive poses nude, but tastefully covered. One of Kate’s hottest photos, she has sex hair and is sprawled on a fur covered chase wearing nothing but stockings and stilettos. I didn’t know Kate had this side to her. Maybe working with Leonardo DiCaprio again made her revive her sexy side! Check out the full photo spread from the Vanity Fair shoot here.

Here is a bit from her interview, where Kate reveals she still feels like the fat kid. Ummm…NO!On her fashion sense: “I often look at women who wear great jeans and high heels and nice little T-shirts wandering around the city and I think, I should make more of an effort. … But then I think, they can’t be happy in those heels.”

On her body: “This is going to sound really weird, but I never had a desire to be famous. I never had huge ambitions - never. I was fat. I didn’t know any fat famous actresses. I just did not see myself in that world at all, and I’m being very sincere. You know, once a fat kid, always a fat kid. Because you always think that you just look a little bit wrong or a little bit different from everyone else.”

Revolutionary Road Trailer Kate & Leo Reunited!

Kate Winslet in Revolutionary Road
Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet reunited for a new movie, Revolutionary Road. Check out a video clip here and read more about their juicy sex scene!Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet will be reunited on the big screen again in their new film Revolutionary Road. The two, who set box office records in Titanic, will once again play lovers in the film. Many women would sell their souls to have a sex scene with Leo, but Kate said it was quite awkward.

She explained: “I just kept saying, ‘This is too… weird.’“And Leo was like, ‘Oh, get over it.’ And I’m going, ‘Yeah, a little reminder: You’re my best friend. He’s my husband. This is a bit weird.’“I hadn’t realized how much my chemistry with him since Titanic would still stick. It’s great to discover we can just slip right into it, like muscle memory.”What made the situation weird is Kate’s husband Sam Mendes, is the director of the movie. Yes, one could see how that would be strange.

Revolutionary Road is about a young couple living in the 1950’s struggling to come to terms with their marriage and problems while trying to raise their two children. Another tearjerker. Kate says of the film,“We knew that if we were going to do something again, it had to be something big and emotional. I played this very clever cat-and-mouse game to get my husband and then my best friend involved.”
