Nicole Kidman Testifies Car Chase Left Her in Tears
Nicole Kidman testified Monday that she was "really, really scared," reduced to tears and fearing a car accident after paparazzi pursued her two years ago according to people.com.
"I was frightened and I was worried there was going to be an accident," Kidman told Sydney's New South Wales State Supreme Court, speaking about the Jan. 23, 2005, incident in which she reported being chased on her way to a dinner appointment at her parents' home in Sydney, the Associated Press reports.
The Oscar winner, who appeared calm and composed as she answered questions in a photographer's defamation suit against a Sydney newspaper that slammed him for allegedly hounding the actress, said she was "really, really scared" during the car ride and that she was "in tears and distressed" by the time she reached her parents' house.
Kidman, who has homes in both Sydney and Los Angeles, described hunkering down in the car's back seat – leaning over in her chair in the witness stand to demonstrate to try to avoid being spotted by photographer Jamie Fawcett and his assistant who was also giving chase.
