Paulina Porizkova joins Cycle 10 of America's Next Top Model
After serving as a panelist on America’s Next Top Model for five cycles, Twiggy is stepping down as a judge and handing her seat over to former model, Paulina Porizkova. Twiggy’s reason for leaving? Scheduling conflicts. Twiggy took over when Janice Dickinson left the show after the fourth cycle.
The Hollywood Reporter posted this news earlier today, stating that supermodel Paulina Porizkova will be taking over as a judge on Tyra Banks’ popular modeling competition, America’s Next Top Model. As a former model, Twiggy was able to provide some insight on the various contestants’ ability to work the runway and create the right poses and facial expressions to make their photos as eye-catching and memorable as possible. It’s likely that Porizkova will be able offer something similar to the judges’ panel. In fact, it seems that’s what the producers are really hoping for. Of the addition of Porizkova to the show, exec producers Ken Mok said, “The show and participants will benefit a great deal from (Porizkova's) vast modeling knowledge and expertise.”
Paulina Porizkova, who reached top model fame in the 80’s, also has some acting and writing credits to her name. Among her film credits, she had a minor role in Arizona Dream, a cult film starring Johnny Depp and Jerry Lewis. She also wrote a novel called A Model Summer and a children’s book titled The Adventures of Ralphie the Roach. Now she can add reality-competition judge to her resume. She’ll take over for Twiggy when the tenth cycle starts up.
