Miranda Kerr in Victoria’s Secret 2007 Fashion Show
We’ve already done the Brazilians, the Americans, and now — the Australians? Yes, that’s right, in case you didn’t know, there is an Aussie amongst the Victoria’s Secret supermodels. Her name is Miranda Kerr, and, um, I don’t know all that much about her, but she looks really good as the Statue of Liberty. I didn’t know the old girl had it in her! I’m talking about the Statue, of course, not Miranda Kerr. There is nothing “old” about Miranda Kerr, in case your eyes aren’t already telling you that.
Miranda Kerr kick-started her modeling career in her early teens. Spurred on by the encouragement of her family and friends, Miranda fortuitously decided to enter the Dolly/Impulse Modelling Competition in 1997 when she was just 13 years old. She shocked everyone, including herself, when she won the competition, but she was completely surprised by the backlash that immediately followed her appearance in the Australian teen magazine Dolly.
Miranda’s profile raised exponentially when she landed a coveted gig as one of the faces of Maybelline, when she was chosen as the first Australian to model on the runway for Victoria’s Secret, and when she appeared opposite Kanye West and Pharrell Williams in the music video for “Number One."Miranda Kerr was featured as a key model in the 2007 Victoria's Secret fashion show. She also signed on as the face of Californian fashion designer Arden B. and Clinique Happy.
