Bonnaroo 2008 Lineup Announced

With speculation, prognostication and outright mental masturbation clogging the blog-waves for the past week regarding what the lineup at this year’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival will be, everyone can now take a deep breath (from the nearest helium balloon, natch): this morning Superfly Productions and A.C. Entertainment announced the initial lineup. It’s a guaranteed sellout, as usual.

Among the scheduled performers: superstars Metallica, Pearl Jam, Jack Johnson, Death Cab for Cutie, Willie Nelson and Kanye West, plus indie buzz-sters Vampire Weekend, Ghostland , Gogol Bordello and Against Me!, along with jam-band/roots-grass/AAA can’t-miss acts Levon Helm, Alison Krauss & Robert Plant, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi, Abigail Washburn’s Sparrow Quartet w/Béla Fleck—Bonnaroo mainstay My Morning Jacket.

As previously announced, the seventh annual four-day camping and music festival will be held on June 12-15 on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee, 60 miles south of Nashville. The final Bonnaroo 2008 lineup will total over 100 bands performing on 13 stages over four days.
