Brooke Helvie Appears On American Idol 7 Atlanta Auditions

Brooke Helvie, 18, from Wellington, Florida is determined to show Simon Cowell that pagaent queens can sing without being cheesy. And I fully expect Brooke Helvie, Miss South Florida Fair, to be so bad.Brooke Helvie came to the auditions wearing her crown from the Ms. South Florida Fair. Ordinarily that only leads to merciless mocking and an early hook from the judges, but the 18-year-old was fully aware of that danger, saying that her goal was to prove to Simon that pageant girls can sing.

And sadly enough for Simon, she could. Her cover of the Jackson 5’s “Who’s Loving You” got her three yes votes. But as soon as she left the room, Simon called her “possibly the most annoying person I have ever seen in my life. I actually didn’t want her to sing well.”But she’s really good — Brooke Helvie sings a Jackson 5 song in this “American Idol 7″ Atlanta audition video clip… and while she gets the greenlight for the Hollywood round, Simon comments when she leaves the room that she is “possibly the most annoying person I have ever seen in my life.”
