Delta Burke in Psych Ward!
Delta Burke, known for starring in the TV show ‘Designing Women,’ has checked herself into the psychiatric ward for “depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder and hoarding.”Delta did an interview with TMZ television and had this to say:“…I came in because I was on so many medications and they just weren’t working. I knew I needed to get my meds worked out…I have severe depression…generalized anxiety…problems with obsessive-compulsive and the hoarding, which I really want to work on…”
Delta Burke was born July 30, 1956 in Orlando, Florida, which makes her age 51. She began competing in pageants at an early age and in 1974, Delta was crowned Miss Florida. She went on to compete in the Miss America pageant and won a talent scholarship. This enabled her to study abroad at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
After moving to Los Angeles, Delta landed a variety of roles including the leading role in the television series ‘Filthy Rich,’ but became a household name after her five year stint on ‘Designing Women’ playing Suzanne Sugarbaker. Delta was awarded for this role by receiving two Emmy award nominations for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. After ‘Designing Women,’ Burke used her success to produce and star in another television series called ‘Delta.’The actress has used her weight to her advantage by creating a clothing line and writing a book called ‘Delta Style: Eve Wasn’t a Size 6 and Neither Am I.’ In her book, she talks about the weight gain and other very personal issues like sexual abuse.
