David Cook Performs “Billie Jean” On American Idol Top 10
Kristy Lee Cook sings “God Bless the USA” by Lee Greenwood (1984) in this March 25 American Idol video clip. I’m not sure how much longer she’ll be around in the competition, but this song choice definitely suited her and will keep her out of the bottom three.Randy said it was a nice performance; Paula said it was a good song choice; Simon said it was her best performance by a mile, said it was the most clever song choice.
Can Carly Smithson rebound from her bottom three performance last week with a killer performance for this week? The sultry Irish rose somehow wound up at the bottom last week with Amanda Overmyer and Kristy Lee Cook. She is way to good for that and she will try to sing 1983's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler in the "year you were born" show from Idol. Ugh - that song was awful, this may be rough for Carly.
TMZ.Com has released the whole set list on their website and favorite David Archuleta will sing 1990's "You're the Voice" by David Foster with Jeff Pescetto. So - it can get worse. And according to the report from the AOL gossip site David Cook will go with 1983's "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson. Is this list accurate - that seems way out of character for Cook.American idol finally gets away from their infatuation with 'The Beatles" and after two sub par weeks with the songs of the Fab Four at least we get some different tunes. One that seems to stand out as a possible winner is brooke White who chooses 1983's "Every Breath You Take" by The Police.
Another one that might be worthwhile is a tough one but she seems to have the voice for it and Ramiele Malubay is scheduled to sing 1987's "Alone" by Heart. Tough song. One more I am looking forward to and this could either make or break him is Michael Johns version of 1978's "We Are the Champions" by Queen. All of our idol coverage is here including a story about how Johns and Heath Ledger were pals in their younger days.
