This is the first child for Giada, 37, and her husband Todd, 44. She was shocked when she found out she was pregnant, and told PEOPLE:“When I found out I was pregnant I was in complete shock. I truly didn’t believe it. I honestly thought, ‘There has got to be a mistake.’

One of Giada’s hardest things she had to get used to while pregnant was combating fatigue. The Food Network star and Today Show contributor was amazed at how fast her energy level dipped in the afternoons. At the time, she said:“I feel awesome in the morning, but around four or five o’clock my energy crumbles.”Giada is the granddaughter of film producer Dino De Laurentiis and star of her own Food Network show, Everyday Italian, and penned a cookbook of the same name. She would write two other cookbooks, Giada’s Family Dinners and Everyday Pasta.
