Clark Brothers Will Be Appearing On The American Idol

For myself and the thirteen other people who watched The Next Great American Band, FOX has come up with a very special cross-promotion. Or a very self-serving one.The Clark Brothers, that charming boy band who managed to win the reality competition The Next Great American Band, will soon be appearing on the American Idol stage. This was a summer show meant to fill the Idol void created every single May, a ratings hole FOX has long been desperate to fill. Using a very familiar set up and some familiar faces, Band could have been another great big hit.

But someone at FOX scheduled the show to air on Fridays and the whole bloody thing was a terrible flop - but honestly, the music on the show was really quite good. I was blown away by bands like Light of Doom and Dot Dot Dot, and somewhat less impressed with the country/bluegrass Clark Brothers. But to each their own.Anyway, this trio will appear on stage to deliver more country right into the American Idol jugular. I’ll say it again: a rocker has never won Idol. A country girl has.
