Debbie Stabenow Husband Involved In A Prostitution Ring

Debbie Stabenow, the Democratic Senator from Michigan whose husband became the latest political figure to get busted for participating in a prostitution ring.On April 2, 2008, Senator Debbie Stabenow’s husband, although not arrested, is cooperating with police in their investigation of a Troy, Michigan prostitution ring. Thomas Athans admitted to paying $150 for a prostitute in February.

Debbie Stabenow was born in Gladwin, Michigan on April 29, 1950, so her age is 57. She spent her childhood in nearby Clare, Michigan. Stabenow earned both her Bachelor’s and her Masters degrees from Michigan State University. Before her career in politics, she worked with children in Michigan’s public schools. Debbie has been married to Tom Athans since 2003, and they have two children together, Todd and Michelle. Debbie also has a step-daughter, Gina.

On April 2, 2008, Debbie’s husband, Tom, who works as a liberal talk-radio host, was questioned for his involvement with a Michigan prostitution ring. Athans admitted to paying for sex with Alycia Martin, and said, “No words can fully express how sorry I am.” For her part, Stabenow has said that this is a “very difficult and personal” time. It’s not clear how Stabenow has reacted to Athans, but for now it looks as though she’s at least removed a picture of the couple from her website. Take that, Tom.
