Abbie Cornish & Ryan Phillippe are Dating

Abbie Cornish and Ryan Phillippe were spotted arm in arm at the Australians in Film 2008 Breakthrough Awards on Thursday.Abbie Cornish is an Australian actress whom US Weekly and People magazine suggests played a role in the divorce of Hollywood “it couple” Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe. Ryan and Abbie stepped out together publicly for one of the first times since the much-publicized divorce.

Abbie Cornish was born on August 7, 1982 in Lochinvar, New South Wales, Australia. At the young age of thirteen, she reached the finals in the Dolly Magazine modeling competition. From there she modeled and attempted acting, and by the time she was 16 she had landed several television shows and was actively pursuing a career as a veterinarian. In 1999, she won the Australian Film Institute Young Actor’s Award, and from there she quickly landed many acting roles.

Abbie Cornish has won several other awards for her acting talents, including 2004 Australian Film Institute Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Actress at the FCCA and IF Awards and Best Breakthrough Performance at the 2005 Miami Film Festival. Working with several talented actors, including Heath Ledger in Candy, Abbie has quickly made a name for herself.

In 2006 Abbie came under scrutiny when several news agencies and blogs reported that she was a contributing factor in the divorce of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe. After keeping a low profile the past couple years, Abbie and Ryan stepped out publicly where, according to People magazine,“Ryan rubbed Abbie’s back while she leaned against his shoulder. Throughout the evening, they even held hands. They were adorable. He had his arm around her and they were cozy and comfortable.”
