Esperanza Spalding on Letterman Show Tonight
Rising jazz star and vocalist, Esperanza Spalding played before a national audience tonight on the late night talk show, Late Night With David Letterman. This is the first nationally televised performance for the up and coming jazz star and vocalist. Many young musicians have gotten their first big chances by performing on the late night show before making it big.
Esperanza Spalding hails from Portland, Oregon. At very young age she dropped out of high school to be home schooled, then subsequently returned to school and then abruptly drop out once again. After her first stint in high school she took up the double acoustic base and very shortly thereafter was recognized as a prodigy on the instrument. Esperanza Spalding eventually went on to get her GED and enrolled at Portland State University. Later she moved on to the prestigous Berklee College of Music in Boston.
