Leanne Is The Winner Of Project Runway Winner 2008

Season 5 of Project Runway has come to a close (marking it's final run on Bravo) by crowning the newest ruler of the runway.After weeks of coming up with innovative (and some not so innovative) designs, the final three designers sent their collections down Bryant Park's runway in Wednesday night's season finale. Korto banked on her African-influenced line of earth tones to win the judges over, while Leanne hoped the movement of her wave-inspired collection would wow them. Kenley, on the other hand, added her own personal flair of hand-painted fabrics to her Alice in Wonderland collection in hopes of taking the win. So who was crowned queen of the runway?Fan favorite Leanne Marshall.

Beyond the drama of J. Lo bailing as guest judge due to a "foot injury" and our beloved Tim Gunn stepping in, the show went off without a hitch. Back at Parson's, Heidi Klum, Michael Kors, Nina Garcia and Tim Gunn pow-wowed over each designer's collection before coming to a consensus. While they found Kenley's workmanship to be divine, they weren't to keen on the fact that yet another one of her pieces appeared to be a knock-off (not counting the wedding dress). Korto's eye for fitting her models perfectly impressed the judges, but her overworking of certain pieces put them off. And last but not least, Leanne. There was a bit of concern that Leanne would be pigeon-holed for her petal look that was seen in every piece, but the judges' hesitance was not enough to keep them from naming Leanne and her stunning collection the winner.
