Skate Canada 2008: Charlie White And Meryl Davis Are On Top

Skate Canada 2008
The Original Dance (OD) at Skate Canada was all about the Blues, Lindy Hop, Charleston, Swing, the Foxtrot, Ragtime, Quickstep and the costumes would make grandmother proud. This season the Original Dance can be anything from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s, The U.S.'s Meryl Davis and Charlie White had the best Original Dance with their super high energy and quick-stepping Charleston. Part of the program was a song called Happy Feet and it was so appropriate! Their feet actually looked happy if you can believe it. They are in the lead overall with a total of 90.65 points.

France's Nathalie Pechalat and Fabian Bourzat are in second place overall with 81.27 points. They had a few noticeable mistakes with their Blues and Lindy Hop - at one point, he bumped into her during a footwork sequence, she stumbled on a twizzle and she also fell during her footwork. Ice dancing is treacherous! The U.S.'s Kimberly Navarro and Brent Bommentre are in third place after the Original Dance, with an overall score of 80.35 points. And finally, the most cutest costumes go to Canada's Vanessa Crone and Paul Poirier with their Ragtime routine.
