Carl Edwards Nascar Crash (Photos and Video)
NASCAR driver Carl Edwards is in good shape after a fiery crash at NASCAR’s Talladega Speedway Sunday, but several fans are less lucky. The crash sent wreckage flying into the stand, injuring seven spectators and sending two to the hospital.Carl Edwards Car was airborne and crashed into the protective fence that separates the audience from the track injuring eight fans immediately. Seven fans were treated at Talladega Superspeedway for the minor injuries on the spot.
It is said that the injuries were caused by the flying debris when Carl Edwards Car #99 went airborne on the final lap and crashed into fence at Aaron’s 499 at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday.As Dr. Bobby Lewis puts it, “”minor … not dangerous or life-threatening — mostly bumps, bruises, contusions and possible fractures. but two women were airlifted to Birmingham hospitals.”
Lewis said one, who was taken to UAB Hospital, likely had a broken jaw and also had a cut on her mouth. The other was transported to Brookwood Hospital because of an unspecified medical condition but was not hurt.The crowds started cheering when Carl Edwards got out of car almost uninjured even after this horrible crash and that was the best part of the whole race.
