David Kellermann, Freddie Mac CFO Found Dead
David Kellermann, chief financial officer of Freddie Mac, was found dead in his Northern Virginia home Wednesday morning from an apparent suicide.Fairfax County police responded to a call from Kellerman’s wife just after 5 a.m. from the couple’s Hunter Mills Estates home.Kellermann, 41, was found in his basement. Foul play is not suspected, and homocide detectives are investigating the apparent suicide. Authorities are not releasing further details at this time.
Kellermann joined Freddie Mac in 1992 and was appointed CFO in September 2008. He was a member of the company’s leadership team, reporting directly to CEO David M. Moffett, who resigned last month.Kellermann, 41, lived in Hunter Mill Estates, a well-off neighborhood of large single-family homes with manicured lawns. County records show Kellermann's home is worth about $900,000.
