American Idol:Jason Yeager, Alexandrea Lushington Voted Out
After highlights from the American Idol top 10 boys performance show, Ryan Seacrest.asked the back row of boys to stand up. Seacrest told Michael Johns, Chikezie, and Jason Castro to sit down. Only Jason Yeager and Danny Noriega were left standing. Seacrest said, “America voted, Jason, it’s the end of the journey for you tonight on American Idol.” Before leaving, Jason Yeager gave a farewell performance of “Long Train Runnin’.”
After highlights from the American Idol top 10 girls performance show, Ryan Seacrest asked the back row of girls to stand up. Seacrest told Kristy Lee Cook, Asia’h Epperson, and Brooke White to sit down. Only Amanda Overmyer and Alexandrea Lushington were left standing. Seacrest said, “After the nationwide vote, Alexandrea, it’s the end of the road for you tonight.” After Seacrest brought up Alexandrea’s great grandmother, Alexandrea yelled, “You were supposed to bring her to California, freak.” Seacrest instead promised to go visit her. Before leaving, Alexandrea Lushington gave a farewell performance of “If You Leave Me Now.”
Ryan Seacrest asked the front row of American Idol girls to stand up. Seacrest told Carly Smithson, Ramiele Malubay, and Syesha Mercado to sit down. Only Kady Malloy and Alaina Whitaker were left standing. Seacrest said, “After the nationwide vote, Kady, you are safe. That means Alaina leaves us tonight on American Idol.” Alaina broke down in tears and sobbed, “I can’t sing. Sorry, this is embarrassing.” Seacrest reminded Alaina how far she had come, and the audience gave Alaina a round of applause.
Before getting to the final elimination, Ryan Seacrest gave some American Idol 7 news. Seacrest revealed that on March 11 when the American Idol 7 top 12 perform for the first time that they will have a brand new set, new opening graphics, and a Ruben Studdard exit song. Reacrest also revealed that for the first time ever the contestants would be allowed to pick songs from the Lennon & McCartney songbook. Finally, Seacrest talked about this season’s Idol Gives Back show, which is scheduled for April 9. Some of the guests will include Brad Pritt, Miley Cyrus, Reese Witherspoon, Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, Daughtry, and Carrie Underwood.To close out the show, Ryan Seacrest asked the front row of American Idol boys to stand up. Then, Seacrest called Luke Menard and Robbie Carrico to center stage. Seacrest said, “This is it. The end of the line for Robbie.” Robbie gave a farewell performance of “Hot Blooded.”
