Nathan Robinson of “Raise Up Roof Beams”

Raise Up Roof Beams
Nathan Robinson, singer-songwriter and guitarist from the U.S. east coast indie band Raise Up Roof Beams, articulates a a new ethic which prefers live performance and interaction over studio isolation, community building over elitism, and relational politics over slogans and diatribes. The band, which takes its name from a J.D. Salinger novella (”Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters”), blends folk styles, punk sensibility, and literary lyrical allusions with the diverse strengths of the players’ musical prowess.

The line up is: Robinson: guitar/vocals/harmonica, Harrison Gordner: drums/percussion/marimba, Justin Arawjo: mandolin/banjo/lap steel/accordion/melodica/backup guitar, Alan Carroll: keyboards, Kelly Musser: upright bass/vocals. Live: They play venues around the northeast corridor from Washington , D.C. to Philadelphia, have also toured the Midwest and plan an extended Summer 2008 tour to support their upcoming release.
